customize profile sms sound

I doubt it can be done...but, I want to be able to customize the sound for sms for any single contact. I get periodic text messages from ESPN that I have opted in....Obviously I can change the ringtone for any single profile but I do not see a way to customize the sms sound for any single profile.

Thanks in advance.

been trying too. On my mythic it was easy to setup with notification sounds. On this phone it doesnt seem to have it.

cool app BUT it does not allow a custom SMS by individual contact either...

yes, it does

open a new message, select recipient...either send them a message or type something and hit the back button.

if you sent them a message, click on the gear symbol at the top right. in this menu you can change EVERYTHING about that contact's window...including notifications and even background and font.

if you chose not to send them a message go to your drafts, or open the thread for that contact and click on the gear symbol.

Just because you don't know how to do something doesn't mean it isn't possible :)

Have you tried? Go into the contact itself and EDIT, scroll down to ringtone for contact? This is how I used to do it even when I had Go SMS Pro.

Thanks for the info. I looked in the market and there are many apps for handcent sms. Which is specific applications are you referring too. I am also new to android.

It is called "Handcent SMS" all of the other ones you see are font packs or emoji packs.
