Root [CWM][WIP][DEV] Clockworkmod Recovery for the LG Viper 4G LGLS840

the problem i got when i installed it was when doing nandroid backups it would say: cannot mount /system!

So basically after trying to flash a few other images i screwed it up. Hey if there is anyway you could get the Pull SystemRecovery.img from the phone then head over to CWM Recovery Builder and build a new recovery just for our phone,... i have the graphics.c and postrecoveryboot.sh files but not the origional phone recovery.img ,.....

So I have the original recovery.img, as well as the correct fstab files, and you have the other files, eh?.. :) lol

I agree with worny, would you mind posting them?

~WickiD~

yeah i got a treat for you too ,... ICS 4.0.1r1 Origional from Sprint ,... I got it off the OpenSource LG website yesterday morning and when I went back at night it was gone ,... ;|

Whats the best place to upload to that they'll stay on there for a while ,...?

check out here ,... it's a custom CWM Builder site ,...

Well maybe he complie the CMW for it based on everything I have seen in this forum. I am still trying too get a hold of the dll file. PG has the the tot file. just in case we start getting brick from testing the recovery once it is made

Are those files required, or can it be built with out them?

For this phone, I'd say more than likely they're required.

Heres the Files ,.. I got them from another forum and also the same guy and files had this on GitHub I seen the little ls840 in the code of the files,.....

Download:
playfulgod-android_device_lge_ls840-3c91acd.zip

You got this from PG's github? The OP of this thread? lol ('Why didn't I think to look for and check his github? lol')..

Thanks! :)

I thought you said earlier you had the dll? Or am I mistaken? I mean no offence - just trying to keep my own head straight, because I have a LOT going on in my personal life, and my days are melding together due to sleepless nights.. :| It's no bueno..

Do you mean the LS840_WD_1_0_0_0.dll file ? I actually thing the git hub was shabbypenguin but I could be wrong ,... the files looked so much the same.

Still trying too locate dll. It a shame that LG mobile tools delete tot and dll and just give us the cab file.

Guys correct me if I'm wrong....been inactive a few days...but the cwm for the lucid will brick your phone once you try and install anything via zip...great job on grabbing the ics source! I think i found a way to still get it as well.

yeah the Lucid is no good ,... but we got the CWM compiled from stock and it does work, you just have to boot into it from a program or such not from power off and buttons. Also I tried to do a nandroid backup from Stock and it failed but someone said that it fails alot from stock and to try it on a Rom. (but we have no roms....lol) The only thing is I forgot the exact install commands that I used. I do know for a fack though that our backup is on /block/mndsdblk???/13 basically number 13 is recovery.

Guys I think maybe we still need the dll for the Viper. I know PG has the tot file and I know I have a tot file. PG is there a way you can VM696.dll and look at it and see if you can make mod dll based off it. Just a idea too think about. Since there people you are going too test CWM . I have a copy of the VM696.DLL

i just pulled a recovery log from my phone with the stock recovery here is the out put
