Root Cyanogen 5.0.5.7 is out

I updated to Cyanogen 5.0.5.7 last night and now when I dial ##program it trys to call? Anyone else getting this or have any thoughts?

Does anyone else have a problem connecting to Bluetooth devices using CyanogenMod 5.0.5.7? I can not connect with my car (2009 Toyota Camry) or my Jabra Halo headphones. I upgraded from 5.0.5 through ROM Manager and did a wipe data. I have tried rebooting the phone. I have had this problem with every build of CyanogenMod after 5.0.5, I would like to keep the 5.0.5.7 but if I can not connect with my car I will have to go back. I drive and hour each way to work and speakerphone just does not cut it.

No problem with my moto t505. I am on 5.7

Where do I put this file to make work. Do i put it in root or tools or what. Little help please

It is a standard apk file. Easy way - Put it on your SD card and click on it with Astro or whatever file manager you are using to install.
Make sure in settings => applications unknown sources is checked

or from your PC (if you have Android SDK installed)
adb install <Full Path to apk file><apk file name>

Well, it turned out my issue wasn't the ROM...something in my data had gotten corrupted...started boot-looping on 5.0.5.6 as well, so I finally decided to wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset and start over fresh.

AMAZING MIRACLE - All my apps reinstalled w/out me doing a thing! First time EVER that has worked, and it is an wondrous thing to behold. :D

Everything up and running again...now that I know how well this ROM handles the automatic reinstall of apps from the market, I don't think I'll ever hesitate to wipe data again. (I use My Backup Pro for stuff like call logs, book marks, SMS, etc.)

ahhh good info. Sweet on the drop calls and the battery life.

Unless Cyanogen has updated the one in ROM Manager, you'll want to use the updated file in the thread on alldroid - it's from the final 2.1 release, and does not require signing back into your accounts...

Has anyone had any luck getting Swype to work with this build? I updated with wiping clean, put on the P3 kernal. The only issue I've found so far has been with getting Swype to work. I've uninstalled and tried re-installing and it tells me registration failed.

works for me. I would try redownloading the installer

Yeah, done that twice. Keeps telling me registration failed.

are you using the actual beta apk or the one that was out on the net? I'm using the beta apk and everything is working fine. I have seen issues with the leaked apk that was out on the net, seems to be a problem everywhere and not just with Cyanogen...

I was using the actual Beta. I emailed them, my account needed to be reset since it was failing at registration. Once they did they I re-installed and it worked.

Woot! That's awesome... I can't live with out my Swype :P I'm very very glad they decided to take it into a public beta...

Dumb question im sure but does this .7 version have the radio update with it or do i need to do it before or after i updated to .7. Running DM 1 for awhile and just realized I am the only one running 2.01. And the last time i tried a Cynogen rom i got a bunch of FC's after so i went back to old dependable.

I did the radio update and it seems to have fixed my bluetooth connection with my bmw hands free module. I used to get an occasional connection, now I believe it is always connecting but not necessarily immediately after starting the car. Sometimes it takes a minute or two.

Just as a FYI...when you install this ROM or at least when I did, it automatically starts downloading all your Market apps for you and also restores your bookmarks. I had to exchange my first Droid and when I was on a stock ROM, I remember it did this....ever since I rooted and used a custom ROM...it never has. It was mentioned above, but I wasn't paying attention and my phone was moving at a snails pace after like 20 minutes of ROM installation and that was after data/cache wipe. I got frustrated and restored my backup of 5.0.5.4.

Then I kept reading how so many people loved the ROM...etc....I figured I must have been missing something. I tried to install again and realized that it was going so slow because it was downloading and installing close to 100 apps. I interrupted by using Titanium Backup to do the restoring and then I was blazing at the speed I was hoping for.

I was using launcher2 on 5.0.5.4 and it worked great. I upgraded to 5.0.5.7 and launcher2 would fc repeatedly. I ultimately was able to search for rom manager on my phone and restore a backup of 5.0.5.4. Seems like every time I try to go from 1 revision of cyan to the next I have to wipe the phone and start from scratch with apps, settings, and home screens. That is such a waste of time and I'm not willing to do it anymore. Why must this be necessary ? I like cyan but I guess I'll have to stick with 5.0.5.4.

Yes it is frustrating but the best way to install any ROM is after a clean wipe. I finds the even when reinstalling the same version of a ROM the results are always better after wiping. It eliminates some of the guesswork as you then at least know current problems are not do to upgrading over previous installs. I use my Titanium backups to restore my apps and data, make screenshots of my homescreens that I want to recreate (actually have them all memorized and improve on them each time), and at this point can enter needed system settings in my sleep. The extra 20 minutes it takes to recreate my setup from scratch pales to the sometimes hours of frustration I have experienced after upgrading over and old setup. Sometimes the problem emerge right way, and other time raise their ugly heads at unpredictable moments. This has been my experience with just about every ROM from every developer I have tested. Accept it, grin and bear it, or stay with what you got. There will always be those that have no problems without doing a wipe first but my opinioun is if I am giving a new ROM (or new version of a ROM) a fair shake, I am better off starting from scratch.

This version was worth leaving Stock 2.1 for..thanks a bunch! :)

Just did the same. Oh the freedom of being rooted again.

So far I am using a bit more battery at 1GHZ. I had 13 hours with DM1.0, 17 hours with official 2.1. Will know in a day or two when battery left calibrates about this ROM.

Is anyone else having trouble with SoundRecorder.apk? It shows in the /system/apk file but not in the app drawer. I have tried everything I can think of, from pulling it off the system then re-pushing it, but it just will not show up. I tried placing it on the root of the sd card and using Astro and still nothing. Any thoughts?
