Root Cyanogen Bootloop HELP!

koolhawk

Lurker
Ive just rooted, installed the lastest radio and installed the latest CM 6.1.1

After i rebooted phone it is now stuck in bootloop

Help?

Desire SLCD On telus if that matters.

Oh and i cant go back into Recovery. I can go into Hboot

Oooops! Don't worry this is probably recoverable and it doesn't sound to me as if your bricked. Is Hboot all you can do?

Never managed to get Cyanogen to get past boot loop.

Wiping, resetting what ever always results in boot loop for me, are you downloading from Rom Manager? (this is how I've tried, not tried their site directly)

after my 1st attempt, I would have about a minute before cm6.1.1 would reboot itself, rinse repeat. After further reading I realized i needed to flashtool my base build to the one they had used to customize (semi noob with an x10) so I found the the correct zip, flashed, pulled titanium off my sd card with astro (that i re-dl'ed from market) used titanium to restore xrecovery and busybox, re x-installed cm6.1.1 and no more problems!!

To all the noobs out there BACK UPS!! heck make a thousand. Love xrecovery! love titanium! becareful re-importing data, you might make it unstable again...

Hope it helped. Hack the world

I had this when I tried to flash CM 6.1.1, which was also my first flash ever. I shat myself at the bootloop, but realised I'd made a backup, so I restored that. Then I flashed Oxygen RC7... then Gingervillain 1.0, which, I think, is better than CM, as it's prettier, but has CM settings and such. If you still can't get it past the bootloader, just flash something else. :)

I used 'rom manager' to flash cyanogen and it also stuck in the boot loop. I then manually downloaded the rom and followed the guide on cyanogen wiki. Google apps wouldn't load at 1st but i tried again after installing the rom and turning the phone on. I reinstalled 2.2 a few hours later, didn't really get on with it!!

  1. Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
  2. Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
  3. Select Install zip from sdcard.
  4. Select Choose zip from sdcard.
  5. Select the CyanogenMod update.zip. Optional: Install the Google Apps by performing steps 7 - 9 again and choosing the Google Apps update.zip.

I'm having the same problem with my Xperia X10.

Installed Cyanogen 6.1.1 yesterday (wiped cache partition, Dalvik cache and battery stats before installing). Was working great all night and most of today.

Battery seemed to be charging slowly so I restarted the phone. The phone kept getting stuck in the boot screen (with the blue android on a skateboard). I took the battery out and tried again. Same thing happened about 4 times, then finally it went through and started the phone. However, everything started crashing one by one when i got into my phone (force close) and I wasn't able to do anything. I had to pull the battery out again to restart.

It seems to be a toss up now, it either gets stuck in a boot loop or it starts up and everything crashes. I can't even get into XRecovery for some reason so I can't wipe to factory defaults. Seems like the phone is wrote off.

Is there anything I can do?

Menu>settings>privacy.

Nothing to do with rooting, its there even on stock ;)

Oh ok, i did know how to do that. Unfortunately I can't. My phone won't let me do anything when it boots up. Everything just pops up and says "force close" and I have to pull the battery out to get out of it.

Is there a way to factory reset without going intoo XRecovery or while the phone is booted up?

You're pretty much stuck there. I dont understand how the xperia works when rooted or anything.

There must be a way to repair / replace recovery. Have a look in the xperia section as they will be able to help you more.

Sorry.
