Root Cyanogen Mod 6 (Froyo) Released!!

I have been waiting for the stable version of the nightlies. before I update is there any version that is most stable. I know on twitter it seems the test 2 works well. Any other input would be greatly appreciated!

I had the original that was put out a few weeks ago and it was awesome, I just need my camera so I had to switch back

I will say it again, the work and effort put into this rom as well as all the others is amazing. The ease of installing, backing up, etc just great! Thank you for all the work!

Right now all it is missing is the Camera. Which is Also what I am waiting for.
 
quick question: once CM6 is released, if i flash it will i lose the ability to install sling player (since it's paid and copy-protected)?
 
So on Rom manager it says Test #4 for CM6. Thats the one with everything but camera. Correct? I mean it does say Broken Camera...So Im assuming lol...

Ok, I'm new to this and I followed all the directions and flashed this rom to my phone, however when I when I check my firmware version it is 2.1-update1. Obviously I did something wrong.

1 DLed the file from the link
2 copied it to the root of my sd card
3 recovery
4 wipe data
5 wipe cashe
6 apply from sdcard picked file...
7 reboot
2.1 update1 ???

Any help would be appreciated.

I tried this one today, it seemed like everything worked except camera. I didn't test out the GPS in Maps or Navagation, but it turned on fine. I only used it for like 20 minutes just to mess around, but it is pretty good thus far!
 
Just ran the newest #4 and still had problems with mms. Sms was ok until I tried to send an mms and then neither worked without force closing. Getting better tho for sure.

Yeah I gave it a try too...Sept I cant use swype so I went back haha...I never noticed how much I needed swype and I cant find another version anywhere that wont expire :(...
 
Everybody that is having trouble with mms not working and other stuff. Use the test2 ROM. IT is the most stable right now. Test four is getting better but not as good ase test2. And if mms is not working there is a file that you can push to make it work. It is somewhere on xda. I can't find it. Hope this helps somebody.
 
So is anyone running this w/ a non-stock kernel and not having stability issues, or are there some Hydra kernels that play nice w/ this ROM atm?

I was running the 1.15 ghz OC/UV and Iwas getting some tearing on the screen. But other than that it seemed to be doing ok.

I had some problems w/ CM earlier wrt to using the SMS so I've got it off for now. I'm going to tinker around with it later.

I just tried the 1.15 OC/UV and had stability issues with my stock ROM though. I'm restoring and am going to try the overvolted one now. *fingers crossed*.

I'm running the version modified with BT, MMS, and GPS with the Hydra UV v02 kernel and I have no issues. Battery life is great and it's stable. BT doesn't really work though...it turns on, and pairs with my device, but it can't connect.

I'm jealous. This is what I'm aiming for in the end. I loved the CM ROM when I was messing around with it earlier, but needed my SMS to be working for another few hours. I don't ever use BT, so that's not an issue for me.

So you were using the undervolted 1.15 w/out Wireless N?

I'm using the stock speed undervolt kernel.
 
i'll wait until camera issue is fixed.

so is it truly that much faster with froyo? battery is better with new kernels?
