Cyanogen Mod wont install... help!!

Hey there, i rooted my galaxy s2 with the CF-Root kernal thing and i have CWM on my phone. I go into ROM manager, go to download ROM, select cyanogenmod, press download, I tick the box to backup existing rom, and wipe dalvik cache and press ok, then i press OK to reboot in ClowworkMod Recovery and continue the installation. It then boots up and the menu says Android system recovery <3e> and it says
-- Installing package...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...

E: Failed to verify whole-file signature
E: Signature verification failed

Installation aborted.

I am stumped here... i do not know what i did wrong
I am not sure what to do from here wether its something to do with the CF-Root or the CWM or whats going on, any help would be very appreciated.

Power off the phone. Boot into recovery (hold volume up, home key and power button)
If you get android recovery the you need to install CWM Recovery either from Rom manager or using CF root.
If you get CWM recovery try flashing the rom from there.

CFRoot is not compatible with Rom Manager, thats why Chainfire includes his CWM app. as I understand it you'd need to flash a kernel thats compatible with Rom Manager to get its functionality.

Don't worry, the kernel is replaced by CM's one when you install CM7.

ROM Manager won't flash roms for me.
CWM can't seem to do it either.

Here's what happens when I flash to/from CM7.

Three button method to enter CWM 4.0.1.5
Factory reset
Install zip (CM7)
Installation ends in less than 30 seconds (phone fails to boot into CM7; stuck at boot animation every time I do this)
RE-enter recovery. After failed flash, it boots into "CWM-based recovery", with blue/green (cyan) letters. Not sure why this is the case.
Factory reset
Install zip (CM7)
Boot
...
Profit.

CWM can flash nandroid backups, but NOT rom zips for some reason (For me). Only "CWM-based recovery" seems to be able to flash roms.

Try it this way... it works for me.

Anyone know why I can't just flash the rom properly with CWM in one go?

The last time I played with CM7, which admittedly was some time ago, the initial flash only installed the kernel. You had to flash the ZIP a second time before rebooting to ensure that the ROM itself was installed correctly.
