Root Cyanogen ROM coming soon...

If he manage to get camera working on froyo, that would be awesome... I have a froyo rom on my evo but cameras and bluetooth don't work. But the results on benchmarks are 2-3 times faster than the stock rom...
Some examples on my phone:

Stock rom
Linpack 5-6 mflops / overclock and fps cap removed got 7-8 mpflops
Quadrant 500-570

Froyo EVOlution v9 rom
Linpack 32-36 mflops / overclock and fps cap removed got 36-42 mpflops
Quadrant 1,200-1,400

Once you go froyo, you don't go back

DamageControl 3.5 Froyo with everything working(supposedly) will also be out any time now..I started with Fresh and went to DC and DC seemed much better as far as performance. If Cyanogen is out first I'll try 'er out.

Cyanogen has a video posted of a working Evo :)

He is supposedly working on giving the HDMI out port "full capabilities", meaning not just video playback, you hook the cable to phone and tv, and you see everything on your TV that you see on your phone.

Now that got me interested

I have yet to try anything Froyo. I just need everything to work, so I can't wait until this RoM is released so maybe I can try out some Froyo and see if the hype is real!

I was sad to see that Sense will not be included on any of Cyanogen's releases (it's closed source / closed distribution).

I like sense.

if i do a nan backup, flash the rom, and don't like it. can i do a nand restore and get my old rom back? sorry. total noob here but wants to try froyo

Patch, I think you can. Although... you won't ever want to do that. Cyanogen is a beastly man. He can do things you've never thought possible.

I'm pumped for this. Zenonia on my HDTV, mmmmm :D

what's Zenonia?

Just realized we could use the EVO as a portable game station for SNES/NES/GAMEBOY too with the WiiMote app, etc. All we need... That's awesome.

I've been following the thread on xda for some time now. Also included Bluetooth keyboard and mouse support. That with full hdmi out makes ur tv a giant web browser....

Is there a listing of the various ROMs that are out for phones? I am new to all of this and thought that perhaps there was a website that collected all of them and put descriptions on them. Thank you

Try this. The official wiki is down at the moment, but this will give you an idea of what's out there.

This link is a bit old, but the info is still good:

Zenonia is an 8bit RPG for Android/iOS/WinMo. It's incredible if you're into that kind of thing. Think the look and feel of Zelda with the mechanics of a modern MMO style RPG (though it's not multiplayer).

As of right now, the Wiimote App doesn't work on any HTC phones. If this fixes it I will definitely be installing it.
