So... I finally got CM6-RC2 installed but had wiped my RC1 installation in the process (see message #23).

Created a new ROM Backup of the current CM6-RC2 installation.
Restored the backup that was created before updating to RC2...

Similar steps as in earlier post, except:

ROM Pre-Installation
- Backup Existing ROM [_]
- Wipe Data and Cache [_]
** Not making another backup and not wiping the data. Hoping for a successful upgrade from RC1 to RC2.

Files re-downloaded.

Settings / About Phone / Mod version = CyanogenMod-6.0.0-Droid-RC2

SUCCESS!

Hmm.. first time rebooting after installing (from RC1, no wipe) - got into a boot loop.. past the "M" it rebooted two times, then loaded fine! so if it seems to loop - let it go for a couple tries!

Version 1.0 was made for RC1.

Version 1.5 and above for RC2.

Anyone else having issues with authentication issues when trying to log into Google Talk? Also, I don't seem to be able to get the marketplace to load...it just sits at loading on the Terms of Service.

Hey everyone, I got this ROM to install just fine once I disabled SetCPU's Set on Boot. Something has been weird with my Droid lately, I can only get about 8 hours of battery with CM6, whereas I could get somewhere around 18 with BB. I wonder if it has something to do with the Low Voltage kernel I had been using with BB. Has anyone tried any of the Bekit kernels with CM6 RC2? I want to install the 1ghz LV kernel but it says they are for use with Eclair. Any advice would be appreciated.

GTalk and Android Market both work fine for me. Have you tried reinstalling?

Loaded RC2 this morning with NexTheme....running great so far. I think this might be the ROM to take me from Bugless.

Sorry to keep posting. I found the ChevyNo1 kernels for Froyo and am now running their ULV1.0ghz kernel. I'll see how that goes.

One more question. I've seen lock screen music controls listed as a feature for CM6 RC2, but I can't figure out how to get them to show up. If I'm playing music and lock the phone, the lock screen looks as it always has, no music controls. Am I missing something?

There is a setting for it in Settings->Cyanogenmod Settings->Input Settings that you must enable before the lock screen controls will appear.

Anyone know how to disable camera sound and disable ads in apps with CM6? Pretty standard scripts with most ROMs but I don't know how to do it in CM6.

I have not heard much positive on battery live with CM6 RC1 or RC2 at all.

Mine rebooted twice then loaded up RC1.

So how does everyone feel about RC2 in comparison to RC1? It was a great ROM, battery life seemed ok, and you can't beat CM's goodies. But it did start to lag on me after a few days, instead of settling in.
