Cyanogenmod 6.1 Final released this morn

+1 fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee !!! ;) Sense is complete senseless

Ive used CM6 for a while and now decided to try AOSP. Ill probably never change. Its just so fast, and i have not had any problems so far. Even boot up is fast.
I dont need all the bling. all i need is good, fast, and reliable. AOSP has supplied.

Isn't it wonderful that Android and the Fabulous Developers (great name for a musical group!) have provided the means for us to have so many choices. I'll bet there aren't any two Android phones set up the same way!

Unlike Steve Jobs and his band of Jokers.
aaaaahahahahaha :D:D:D:D:D

Yep I think Steve calls is a Monopoly

On another note: I have a question, just why is it sometimes our signature show up in post and sometimes they don't, are they turning them off during busy peeps hours ??

Great question! :) Let me see if I can find an answer.

JB - May I ask a question....
Going to proceed ....assuming the answer is yes!

If you are going to set up you Senseless Rom to look exactly like sense....whats the point?

Thus the reason why I said it was senseless :D

woah, I spoke too soon about not having issues. My phone was fully charged last night, then around 80-90% at 2am after I used it for some time as stopwatch, etc...this morning (9am) it was off (several times in 6.0 it turned off on its own) and I then I turned it off and the battery was at 0%, and I was like WTF????
then I plugged it in and didn't turn on after a few seconds.
Now, even connected, it shows at 0% *worried*

edt:
it is now charing, but it does concern me that it went from ~80% to 0% overnight, when not in use

Shouldn't be due to the ROM...not seeing other report that issue.
Plug in...charge to 100% - then turn off and leave on the charger another 2 hours or so. Then reboot (on the charger)

That SHOULD help -

Yes.. ;)

Well, let's see...I like the Sense look, and the HTC widgets...so I thought I would try CM6 as it is Froyo, which adds some new features...the supposed speed, and the native aps2sd, just to name 2 off the top of my head... Sooooo, if I can set up CM6 to look similar to my previous Sense setup, then I have the best of both worlds... It doesn't have to look exactly like Sense...And yes, I do like some "bling" :p:D...

My Fresh 2.3.3 OC'd was "customized", with Kelmar's Battery Circle, and a custom launch bar at the bottom, as well as a different unlock bar. It was fine speed wise, but I was having a few small issues, so if I needed to reflash the rom anyway, going through all the setup and all, why not try something that might give me some new functionality? FWIW, I'm ready to upgrade phones, just don't like what Sprint has to offer right now.

Bring on GingerBread !!!! :D:D:D:D

The best way to get the signature to appear USUALLY, is to hit the edit button at the bottom of your post and then just save it. If you avoid going back into that same thread before someone else posts, your signature will usually stick around. :)

This is what I have figured out after over six months of being a part of this forum. I wish the signature showing up was more consistent, but nothing is ever perfect. ;)

I am not so sure. I didn't see anything like this before upgrading. I was charging this morning (with a crappy, and slow charger) and %35 of battery lasted less than an hour and then it shut off. I then charged it again to 100% and disconnected it (didn't see your post until now) and in less than an hour it was down to %76 even though I barely used it to see the time abuot 3 times in that time, nothing else.
After that though, it has been about 3 hours and it's down to 66%
will try your suggestion, maybe it's just confused about the battery level as you implied (i think)

Have you tried resetting you battery stats?

Charge to full 100%(keep phone plugged in)
Boot to recovery and wipe battery stats
Reboot phone
Unplug phone from charger(never plug in till 0%)
Let the phone die 0%
Plug phone into charger and recharge back to 100%(never unplg till 100%)

no, didn't know I could (maybe should) do that...how long will it take to go to 0% (maybe I should do this over the weekend, since I'll be very busy until then)? I know I shouldn't unplug until it's fully charged, but many times that's not an option :(

Well, if your battery life sucks it should not take too long;) Wiping of the stats will give a better indication of your battery life

Two isses related to browser in CM6. When in the browser, and I hit menu to bring up the url window and the keyboard, the whole screen jumps up and down making it impossible to enter a url. Also, how do you make a choice between a mobile website and the full website? I have looked thru the settings and didn't find it. Must have just missed it.

Edit, apparently the jumping is only in landscape mode, but still...

Try AOSP bro, I find it much more stable IMO. ;)

Well that didn't last long. I flashed this update and it screwed up my phone. Really laggy on bootup and would not respond when I wanted to unlock the screen. After several minutes the unlock command would process and the screen unlocked. Then my widgets and icons would not load. Had to FC ADW launcher repeatedly just to get half the icons to load.

Too much trouble for the final release. I wasn't having major issues with the CM6 RC1 I was running so I went back to it. Thank god for nandroid restore!

Too bad the file for AOSP Mod v.0.9.9.2 has a high level security threat in the download file. (Norton alerted it) Guess I'll stay where I am for now.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with AOSP, your Norton is simply giving you a false positive, Norton flags when I say hello to peeps, lol there are many people using AOSP with no issues and fast and reliable as hell. IMO

I feel all of the 'stable' releases that CM released were always worse than the nightlies, imo;)

I would suggest Deca's rom, found here [ROM] Mau5 CM6 [Dec 13] - xda-developers This one is based off the stable release but much faster with Deca's #43 kernel in the rom already. It is themed but I highly recommend;)

Andy says you can send it all to him, he loves that chit, LOL :D

Thanks. I may try that if I can override that mouse theme somehow and just choose my own wallpapper and stuff. Would I need to wipe everything since that is based off of the CM6 final release or just wipe dalvik and cache?

I don't believe you need to wipe data, cache and davlik cache should be fine. Nandroid of course;) If I remember right, your phone can handle 768, so no need to flash the 691 kernel. The new market is there also, so you could flash that too. If you want the Gingerbread keyboard, that's there also
