So in all reality I can nandroid back to 2.0d and update my prl then nandroid restore back to my froyo rom

Alright, so I've heard there has been issues with gps and battery. Have not really been able to put it through a good gps test, ie: google nav, places, maps. Battery, I've been quite happy with the battery life.
Right now I'm running the 825 with uncapped kernel (I believe #7, have not tried anything else since I downloaded the uncapped kernel)
I have an app called golf card, uses gps on the range finder. Pretty cool app, btw! Played a 3.5 hour round and I have to say the Froyo rom rocks. Never once did the phone freeze up, gps on the range finder was within 2 yards and I used 13% of my battery. On 2.1, gps was ok and the battery life, I usually dropped 50%. All said, I'm quite happy with the froyo rom right now, I would suggest this rom to anyone!
Next week, traveling 400 miles to Tennessee, will give Google Navigation a good run through!

Okay so I just rooted & tried installing the rom but it keeps freezing on the cyanogen start up screen. Anyone know why? I'm going to try messing with a few things but if anyone has a quick answer on how to fix it I would really appreciate it.

Did you wipe ? both data and Dalvik...

Did you do all wipes and then flash the zip? Do not flash any of the gapps or uncapped kernels until you boot up first. After first boot, then flash the gapps
I got a quick question and everywhere i go i dont see an answer so here it goes.
i have the collins tweak set on 691 on my phone since i dont have it OC'D but if i want to use the uncapped kernel to OC since the lock screen lag is so annoying, do i have to stop using the collins tweak? i love it since i can get an easy 48 hours on my phone with heavy usage ie sending several hundred texts, a few calls, but mainly surfing the web with 2 or 3 bars of coverage since my signal is around -100-105.

As far as I know, yes you can use the uncapped kernel with the battery tweak. But choose wisely which uncapped kernel you flash, some have issues with gps

Yeah, I wiped and then flashed the zip and still no luck. I even tried the whole process again and it still wasn't working. I'm going to re-download the rom from xda and see if that changes anything.

For me, battery life is biggest difference. Before I would get 8-9 hours with solid use and I would be at 25%. Now, I go from 7am-8pm and I'm usually around 40%-55%.
I like a couple of features in 2.2, chrome to phone (use it once a day at least), voice actions, press 1 button to make phone call
Speed and performance for me, is big difference (obviously). Since this rom is still in the testing phase, for the most part, I'm sure speed and performance will only get better. Linpack 5.4, quadrant 465
It is AOSP rom but now that I've been with AOSP roms since I rooted, I don't miss the sense ui at all.

I was trying the RC1. I'm going to try the nightlie later & hope that works out. I didn't try installing a kernel or anything before flashing the rom. I'm really new at this so I'm reading everything very carefully & taking it step by step. I just don't know why it would freeze like that. The first time I booted the rom it sat at the white htc screen for awhile so I pulled out the battery and did a hard reset. The second time around it got farther but froze. I tried this at least 4 times to no avail. The blue electricity thing going around the logo would always stop at a different random place after a random number of times around.

What do you mean? Like a nandroid backup? I'm off work now so I can put in some time figuring all of this out. I followed the xda forums rooting guide step by step.

okay, i understand now. The build I'm running is RA-heroc-v1.5.2. Is there something else I have to do now?

Not many flaws for me, the only issue I have is that the market FC's when I download something from the market. I think this problem is only from an earlier gapps that I had flashed. If you flash the newest one that is with the RC1, you should not have any problems.

I know you have done this already, but try again
I'm using ClockworkMod, so RA could be different
The only thing I can tell you to is boot into recovery, wipe davlik cache, wipe cache, wipe data (factory reset). Then install zip from sd card, should be RC1 or one of the nightlies.
Reboot phone, white htc screen should stay on from 10-45 sec, then you should see the Cyanogen screen (which I know you've seen). Could be as long 10 min, so don't freak out, (If it begins to loop again, I don't what else you can do but try clockworkMod recovery.)
If you boot up, then flash the gapps from your sd card. Same as flashing RC1

I did this and it's just sitting at the white htc screen. I'm starting to get frustrated with this not working. I'm going to try a non cyanogen rom next and see how things go.
