just flash one of the nightlies as any other ROM. Do a full wipe, dalvic too when coming from something other than a CM ROM. Just flash the nightly of your choice and the google apps pack if you want. Not required but you wont have google nav, maps, market if you dont. You do not need an OC kernel or the battery tweak to run the ROM. I don't use either...yet.

The widgets you are referring to are likely the Sense Widgets. Right now CM6 uses ADW Launcher - I personally think LauncherPro is far superior. If you switch to Launcher Pro you can get a clock widget. If you pay $2.99 to get LauncherPro Plus, you can get a really nice bookmark widget as well.

When you download it and hit the 'Home' key for the first time it will ask you which application you want to handle it and if you want that application to be the default. Just hit that you do.

If you have already answered this, then you need to go into Manage Applications and clear the current home screen manager's cache.

I have the same email issue with yahoo. Says user name and password are incorrect? I just downloaded the yahoo mail app. Will switch back when the problem is fixed. Haven't received any pics via text yet. I always used handcent in the past and had no issues.

I don't use APPS2SD at all as I don't use that many apps. However, I think it is important that you understand more about your last question rather than just receiving a "Yes" or "No" answer.

To answer your last question though, Class 4 merely refers to a very specific type of speed rating. Assuming a fully fragmented disk (Fragmentation should have 0 effect on solid state media), the class refers to the maximum sustained write speed of the disk. Thus, your Class 4 card can write data at a rate of 4 MB/s.

Apart from the fact that apps are generally small to begin with (Thus you are unlikely to notice any I/O occurring outside of loading larger files like pictures), the 'class' has no bearing on read speed. With this in mind, running apps from the SD card deals with read performance - something that is unaffected by the class rating.

All of this said, the class rating is a speed rating and has no bearing on whether you can use A2SD or not

So class 6 is recommended mearly because it can read/write at 6mbps and would result in less lag? I'm assuming that I woud'nt have much of a problem then with less media intesive apps. Only way to know for sure is to try it. Might give it a shot when my memory runs low.

I would recommend whatever is cheapest to be honest. Do you really think you would notice the difference between 4 MB/s and 6 MB/s in anything but a file transfer?

For instance, consider this:
1. CBR (Constant Bit Rate) music is generally not encoded at any greater bit rate than 320 Kb/s (Note: that is only 40 KB/s or .04 MB/s)
2. A picture taken by the Hero only runs ~2MB. Thus, a Class 2 drive should be able to write that image in 1 second.
3. Any HD Movie from the web (ie: Not a BluRay rip or TV rip) typically is encoded at ~5Mb/s (Note: that is only 625 KB/s or .625 MB/s). (Granted this is largely a read operation and not a write operation, you get my point).

All phones will be different, just gotta try and see what your phone can handle

Side note, can I overclock the kernel that comes with the CM nightly roms? The OC widget is showing 710... however after a reboot, it reverts back down and I have to bring it back up to 710. I did install and OC kernel but did a factory/dalvik wipe and flashed the rom again without flashing the OC kernel again.

The last 2 nightlies you have been able to OC the stock kernel without having to flash one of the uncapped kernels. Should be able to go to 768

Everytime you reboot you will have to adjust the OC widget to your liking

When flashing a nightly, I would recommend only wiping cache and Davlik cache. I've been flashing nightlies since the 8/10 with no problems just with wiping cache and Davlik cache. And as always do a nandroid first before flashing anything (just in case)

I just installed CM6 2 days ago and have no issues that I have discovered thus far.

Is there a changelog for all of the nightlies to review?
