Oops, I guess I misunderstood. By data on overnight, I meant wifi. Its on as soon as I get home...
 
:) ah i see - right in that case try the wake lock setting - i think it is in the wifi settings-menu button-advanced-sleep policy - set to never - but i would check that on the cm7 site to be sure
 
OK, checked the CM7 info and you are right - so I've followed the directions and set the sleep policy to Never. Although, I'm not sure I really understand what it is that does? I would have thought that means there would be more battery drain.... I guess I'm not clear on what that does.....
 
yes it does seem the reverse of what you expect - but i think it means it stops the phone turning wifi on and off which maybe takes up more power :/ not sure - give it a try anyways - or turn it off altogether maybe ?
 
I changed the wifi policy to sleep, charged full, wiped batt stats through recovery, and still, after 14 hours I am down to 35 %, which doesnt sound too bad, except that the phone was sitting untouched for at least 12 of those hours..
It seems CM7 is flaking out on me the last day or so now.
It has been 'losing' things. I set up a lockscreen pattern when I was out - it worked once, and then on subsequent wakes, no lockscreen pattern.
It has been losing my wallpaper on reboot. I have to go into the MultiPicture Live wallpaper and make one little change, and then they re-appear.

mmm....that doesn't sound good. if I was using mine in same manner then I would expect
better battery I think. bad battery maybe? what's it like with say dGB? better or as poor?
 
wifi sleep policy should be set to never.
it uses more power when its initiates sleep for some reason and has always been the case

as for the rest of it, dunno why your device is doing that. could be some data corruption somewhere.
have you restored any system data with titanium?
 
Argh, fat fingers it seems - I meant to say that wifi is set to never.
I am positive that I haven't restored any system data via titanium. As a matter of fact, I wasn't sure I was going to like CM7, so have only been restoring apps as I come across a need for them, since it can be so time consuming to restore them all, just to switch over to a new rom.
Could it be an SD card issue? ie: it starting to fail?

@dan - nope, haven't tried dGB -- I'm S-on and need to be S-off I think...?
 
You need s-off to take fill advantage of its small size. Cm7 is 2.5 x the size of dGB.

With cm 7, s-on, you are wasting 105MB of space. With dGB s-on, 190MB is wasted.

I'm not sure about uploading a pic either - guess it needs to be online first (ie dropbox)

6h 47 min on battery -- 74% left
Thats doing nothing on the phone since we were watching a football game and then a movie...

Voice calls 25% (thats one 6 minute call)
wifi 21%
cell standby 16%
display 16%
Phone Idle 15%
Weatherbug 4%
Android OS 2%
Gallery 2% (gallery 2%? I haven't opened the gallery today...)
Standby and Phone idle - these aren't the same things?
 
:-D not just me then. I've tried drop box but web sites don't like those
urls

your time charge stats seem similar to mine I think.
 
Just get a photobucket account and then the photobucket application. Upload with the app and copy links...

you dont use the photo upload
you just click on the image in photobucket and it will give you a list of urls
one of them will be for forums
 
Don't forget it all adds up to 100% so the lower screen is, the higher everything else must be
