Root CyanogenMod?

could but itd take extra work to do so, and youd need a working cwm to install it... so youd have to do manual flashing anyhow which kinda defeats the purpose
 
you can however just test them using fastboot, if you fastboot boot it it wont actually get installed itll just try to run it
 
i just renamed the file recovery.img and replaced it in the cwm recovery from the thread. doesnt take any effort other than simply drag and replace. the working 6.0.4.5 boots just fine, but no sd or usb mount though sideload works.
 
ive heard people say a million times that its just the lun file... ive tried all 3 ive found none of them does anything...
 
there is a file related to the usb controller we might check out. usbcontroller.cpp or something, that if written properly might fix it. not really aure what the issue is tho...
 
the thing is writing to the lun files works, it just doesnt actually activate anything. hell it might even just need the proper init.usb.rc or stock usb config binary or something i dont know really

but yea in all seriousness im just being realistic. the stuff i mentioned i dunno we would have to take a look at it and tinker to figure anything out, if you guys want to play around maybe explore some other repos that works too, but the sd mounting thing is a mysetery to me i never figured out why zte and vold dont get along. theres a workaround hack that mouse got from playfulgod but its not pretty
 
Yeah he's not being mean lol, porting is a realistic kind of development, you can't say that everything will work for sure until it really is working
 
exactly, sd does seem to function right with 3.4.x kernels tho it was just the 3.0.x line that had issues. now just need to figure out usb and cwm is good to go and even be made official with a touch variant. then cm is gonna take some serious work but we will get it out to you guys as soon as we can
 
new? not really. I have it booting to visuals, but very unstable. Not beta, or even alpha, testing stage.

I'm not really good at these things, but I'm willing to lend a hand any way possible.
 
nothing really. attempts to fix hw accel to maybe get it faster and not so FC'y have been trivial. it'll get done soon tho. just some things that need to be sorted out

I haven't had a chance to play with your CM11 build yet. Will probably work on it tonight.

On another note, the warplte source doesn't have working wifi for the imperial -_-

We should be set now. I got my Awe in the mail today, so far loving it. Rooted and FINALLY running my own (more words i cant say on AF) kernel. I'll be working on CM this weekend hopefully.
 
I would like to have been more active on the irc but virgin has been d'ing around in my area and service is terrible! I havent even been able to login to irc for some reason. Just keep getting connection errors. Pm me any links to stable or test builds and I'll download them and give you some feedback when I get to my office.
Also still tweaking my stock build and still trying to get my own CM 10.2 to boot. Could you toss me your working kernel/cwm and I'll see what I can cook up? Also would it be alright if I ripped some of your assets from CM to see what I can do with them? Ty RB!
