Root CyanogenMod?

I would like to have been more active on the irc but virgin has been d'ing around in my area and service is terrible! I havent even been able to login to irc for some reason. Just keep getting connection errors. Pm me any links to stable or test builds and I'll download them and give you some feedback when I get to my office.
Also still tweaking my stock build and still trying to get my own CM 10.2 to boot. Could you toss me your working kernel/cwm and I'll see what I can cook up? Also would it be alright if I ripped some of your assets from CM to see what I can do with them? Ty RB!

Is this project scrapped? Are we in a stand still?
I JUST got my new phone from Virgin to fix my rebooting issue, and i'm excited for cyanogenmod!!

Its at a stand-still. The devs working on this are looking into current problems bit cm10.1 boots but is SLOOOWWWWW. Not even Alpha stage

its a process... be patient, just because we dont update you about how it still doesnt work every day doesnt mean we arent working on it. when we have something we will let you know. it has display issues, we need to work that out, get cm actually usable before its released even as a teaser

If all the devs working on it find a gud time to collab we'll have it done in no time

yep, sadly im not even in the game at the moment. damned postal service messed up the label on my return and it ended up back at the post office in a lost and found... gotta try to get it to zte again

Not that ive heard, though some of the team has been in and out, myself included. We all got lives which come ahead of everything else so sometimes its hard to meet up in sync >_<
Patience young grasshopper. Have some fun with what ive got going on now. More features to be added and I'm planning on starting a fun theme project (that will probably rip my soul to shreds but I'll try)

It's nowhere even near alpha, let alone beta XD All the work I'd done on it went up in smoke with my external drive :(

Yes actually this is rbheromax's github, you probably know what your looking for more than I do. Maybe one of the team can point you to exactly where the whole repository is. Also go to the IRC, all the guys there know what you need

How would I b able to get to IRC?

I use AndroIRC on my phone. You gotta set it up through the settings menu. Also there is authentication for the IRC that requires you to have registered with nickserve and have a password. Best way to do this (or how I did it anyway) is by going to kiwiirc.com/client look up the commands to register with nickserve and join us at #zte8930

Is there any progress on the CM11 build? If so how are you addressing the partitioning issues? The system partition is huge in kitkat. Just curious to what is going on. :-P

partitioning issues? the thing has a 1gb system partition if im not mistaken, and cm11 fits on the warp sequent which only has like 500mb, so i have no idea what youre talking about

as far as progress we will let you know when there is any

On my N4 the system was repartitioned with the 4.4 update. And it has significantly more internal memory than the awe. The partitioning is relative to Android 4.4 which supports verified boot through the optional device-mapper-verity (dm-verity) kernel feature, which provides transparent integrity checking of block devices. dm-verity helps prevent persistent rootkits that can hold onto root privileges and compromise devices. This experimental feature helps Android users be sure when booting a device it is in the same state as when it was last used. Its not just about the size but the new security thats been implemented. Personally dont care about the progress just saw the entire Awe forum was dead and was just asking a question. Personally dont care for your tone. Don't be an elitist you dont have the chops.

and may i ask who you are? or why you are comparing a stock rom ota on a different device to a cm build? i know what dm-verity is, much better than you obviously. it has nothing to do with repartitioning and it could be enabled, all it does is run an md5 check, but then you cant modify system

last i checked i was one of the devs on the cm project... so im sorry if my tone bothers you but it doesnt make me any less right, i was right to be confused by your claims, and as i said, there will be no partition issues

also, storage space has NOTHING to do with the system partition, thats the data and internal sd partitions

also there is a general rule of thumb, dont ask for progress reports... when we get something we will let you know, there are problems with graphics drivers compatability and we havent made a usable copy yet. same as ive said to many people before you, no progress. its annoying answering the same question over and over when you should know we would tell you if we got it working and untill we do we cant exactly give an eta

While your right about the partitioning for 4.4, CM11 will do that on its own. Actually, thats not entirely true. The RECOVERY will do that to add SUPPORT for 4.4 partioning when the latest CWM is ported. Its not an issue of doing the partitioning its about adding the function properly.

YOU apparently dont have the appropriate knowledge to call out a developer for HIS device. We are working very hard on bringing the latest and greatest to this phone. Its very hard work and takes a lot of time. It doesnt happen overnight.

Also, FYI, when CM11 is successfully ported the rom will only be around 100-150mb. The Awe has a 2gb internal storage. I would say thats sufficient enough.

Get your facts. Or else port CM and see for yourself. Then you can tell us what we need to worry about.

@junkie2100, your doing great work so far bro. I'll be around sometime in the next day or so to get back to work since I got my computer up and running again

I was asking a question based on what I saw happen to the partioning of my own device and what i've read about other devices having to have CWM 6.0.45 (non touch) to flash and repartition. Also is this rom a port or is it actually being built from source? If a snarky answer is all you can give dont bother replying.

Source. Also it doesnt matter touch recovery or not. As long as its version 6.0.3.7 or above though 6.0.4.5 is preferred on most devices

Didnt really mean to be rude but we know what were doing. This device isnt "other devices" it is what it is and we know it inside and out mostly. Its also relatively new to having the features we do, so everything we do to it is a learning process. We (the developers for this device) all have different strengths when it comes to building roms/kernels/recoveries/apps and are coming from previous experiences with the "other devices" so were taking our combined knowledge and doing what we can. Just trust us and let us do what were doing. Well update when we get work done. As it stands we have other things to work on at the moment. A couple of us are new parents, some of us are in school and we all have other projects to complete before we can move on (the kernel and adding features to our existing roms for this and other phones for example).

im just gonna say this, i didnt intend to come off the way you took it, i was legitimately confused by your partition question because no cm11 ive ever seen requires repartitioning and we wont need it. and i answered your question about progress, i didnt have to tell you anything but i told you where we stand. our attitude stemmed from yours, so i suggest you accept that we answered your questions whether you like the answers or not and drop it. lets all just leave it alone and nobody gets hurt

now that cooldudezach and junkie2100 have unbricked my awe ( i LOVE those guys) i will start back on work for CM11 :)

its fine, it wouldnt have worked out anyways, it'd have flashed until ~113 mb where it would fail cuz of i/o error. but we found a way to revive and will have detail for others later :D
