Damageless ROM 2.0

I was able to update my profiile, PRL, sync, everything worked fine except for the market apps, and some of my root programs, which I use.

That is a big issue for me. So, until that gets fixed, I will be going back to Fresh1.1 for now.

Ok, can someone bring me up to speed now, and in 12 hours? I've been drinking a wee bit, and I'm nearly 80 pages behind on the XDA thread now...no way I catch up anytime soon. What's going on with this one as of right now, and noon Sunday (when I'll probably have time to check this again lol)?

Alright...

there's a PRI Version problem ..it shows your phone as "UNKNOWN" in the Network .. if that doesn't get fixed...you won't be able to access NFL Network, Nascar, Sprint TV and you also won't be able to do PRL/PROFILE/FIRMWARE updates..

but don't worry, they found a fix and I'm lucky to say I tried it by calling sprint and getting my MSL code ...

here's what to do in case you flash this ROM or your other ROMs you've flashed show "Network: Unknown" in your About Phone>Status settings

TEST

For those who don't have their code, you can view info, but not change.

whoever has their code, type ##786#, then press menu-->reset

This is supposed to reset your PRI

enter your code..follow all the steps and that's it..your phone will show as "Network: Sprint" again...

Enjoy!

I have this issue. So you just called Sprint and asked for your MSL code? Do they ask why you want or need it? Do I need to talk to advanced tech support, or will basic tech support know?

Ok, now that I'm 160 pages behind in the thread (and sober)...what's been happening on it? I see the PRI issue, which I may or may not mess with...but is there anything else that's major?

I am about at page 170 and was up and on there last night when the PRI came up and was fixed!
I think the big problems are the FB sync issue and not being able to see protected apps! Otherwise the rest are very small issues or even user error!

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY THAT THE PRI ISSUE IS IN NO WAY RELATED TO THE DAMAGE ROM, IT IS RELATED TO THE ERIS LEAK, HOW DO I KNOW THIS READ ON!

This is a post I made over at XDA:

Okay this is what I did!

I am rooted and running a stock sprint ROM, this morning I flash this damage 2.0, bluethooth audio still does not work, but everything else was working great though. I nandroid back to 1.5!
Fast forward to this evening and all the problems everyone else has, and damage new version, I figure I will flash again to try it out! Then everyone starts talking about the PRI, so I jump in and start flashing other ROMS to try to get a different PRI#(Mine is 1.70_003).
So I go to the eris leak and flash PRI, it is still the same, but I have unknown operator and no sprint on my lock screen. Just for shits and giggles I decide to flash back to the newest damage build without a wipe and what do ya know!
Now I have unknown OP and my PRI has changed to 2.11_002!
So now I am going to wipe and try to flash the newest damage build and see if it changes back!
I am wondering somewhere along the way some of you did not wipe first before flashing all these ROMS!
So it seems not doing a wipe causes this to change and stick for some unknown reason!
I am now back to rooted but stock and I still am stuck with the same bad PRI 2.11_002.
That was lastnight!
So this morning I did the PRI fix and got back to 1.70_003, and downloaded the legend leak ROM, did a wipe and flashed and verified my PRI was 1.70_003, then I nandroided like I did before without a wipe back to stock with root and my PRI is the same, so it is without a doubt related to the ERIS leak, and I also think that not wiping first has something to do with it as well!

To all of you that flashed this rom..

post your PRI Version please....
PRI 1.68_003

I flashed DC2.0r2 for about half a day and noticed the following:

Stable Google login
Multi-touch Sense screens work in landscape
Able to access System Update menu and update PRL
Fully functional WiFi on 2nd reboot
Fully functional VVM. An XDA post reports a conflict with Handcent (did not test)
GPS appears fast and precise in wx and maps, but taskbar icon indicates no location services
Hidden protected market apps
Could not pair bluetooth to my car
No multi-touch in Google Maps/Nav
No wireless tether, reports of successful wired tether (did not test)
No Facebook sync despite continual sync status, which kills battery
Manually stopping sync saves battery until the next sync cycle
Quickboot didn't work, adb fix posted at XDA (did not test)
Not optimized yet, not as smooth or responsive as DC1.0 or Fresh1.1, but MUCH faster than stock 1.5

IMO, In attempt to accommodate the community, this ROM was rushed out the door. Despite a few hiccups, it's a great start, and r2 has already solved numerous issues. For now, I'm back to DC1.0, looking forward to updates already in the mill. Deepest thanks and props to Damageless, Flipz and Toast for all their hard work and generous spirit.

you are fine....

Following PRI's that are not effected by this problem are

1.70_003
1.68_003
2.10_003

Yes tell them you need your MSL code because you are having issues with your phone and you know exactly what to do, if they refuse to give it to you. Tell them "In the past they never refused to give it to me" that line always works :D and if it doesn't work, hang up and call again.

Ok, now that I'm 160 pages behind in the thread (and sober)...what's been happening on it? I see the PRI issue, which I may or may not mess with...but is there anything else that's major?

Well if you're not affected by it, you should be alright. But if you do have the issue, consider it a major issue ON YOUR PHONE! You'll have a problem receiving text messages, sprints apps wont work, device self service will tell you the socket is not connected, you wont be able to do PRL/Profile/Firmware updates at all...

So if you do have it, fix it right away.

I resolved my PRI issue 2 or 3 hours ago, and I'm back to PRI 1.68_003.

I agree with most of what uminchu said, though I haven't tried to pair the new rom yet with my car. I also noticed that I can't download new HTC widgets (a new feature with sense), though I haven't got that to work on any of the 2.1 based roms. I will use DC1.0 for everyday use as well, but will continue to play with this ROM until it is finished. After the whole PRI issue I did notice one thing with DC1.0. It doesn't show "Sprint" on the lockscreen like DC2.0 does. I also can't update PRL with it. I'm assuming that's because it isn't based on the Sprint 2.1 ROM like DC2.0 is.

I didn't mean that I wasn't going to worry about the problem, I meant I may or may not mess with the ROM lol. But, my PRI is 1.70_003, so I should be fine anyway

Yep, yours is fine. And now that the fix has been found it is a simple thing to get back on track if you have the problem. I'm playing with it to gain some experience, plus it looks good. Not sure I'll use as my main ROM yet, but probably won't be long before I do.

Have you been able to pair the BT with your car?

Don't believe the hype. Had this installed for about 12 hours and went back to Damage Control.

Too much stuff didn't work.

This is NOT a full ROM.

Awake time was 100%, problems getting certain apps to show up in the market, the list goes on.

I found damage control to be much better. The only issue I have with damage control was lack of visual voice mail (fixed by using google voice) -- and the pictures don't display in html mail

The post on xda stated to replace the facebook apks. Anyone know how I can go about doing that? I tried to copy and paste it from the sdcard onto the system/app folder using ES File Explorer but it wouldn't work.

Just put the zip on your SD and flash it like you would a rom. Thats what I did and it worked perfect!

I've run into an issue, I cannot flash back to Fresh Rom, I attempted to flash back to Fresh2.0c 3 times now, with no luck. Made sure I wiped, am I missing something?

Since you are trying to flash "back", you should use your Nandroid backup copy. That is what I always do.

I also tried this and I went back to damaga 2.02b. Awake time is 100%, phone is much slower and certain apps don't appear (barcode, ect). The good thing about it is it does contain Sprint TV and VVM, but Sprint TV was very choppy and VVM is not a reason why I would keep this ROM so i switched back.

I'd wait for the update that he's planning to push out today...I certainly am. No sense flashing the current release when there's an update on the way
