Darchdroid 2.8 final release

oh ok..i'm still on 60668..really don't see the point in this

updating it gives me the same signal..as i had 667 then 668 with no change
 
i downloaded and flashed earlier this afternoon and so far i'm diggin it. only one little thing the voicemail icon won't go away. it keeps saying i have a new voicemail when i don't.
 
I'm running Darch 2.8 now and have had no issues. I've flashed this rom 3 separate times after full wipes and have had none of the issues people have described.
 
I still have that *86 notification for Voicemail that doesnt exist. I installed that Phone.apk app that someone else posted but nothing happened. how do i get rid of this notification?!
 
Just made the switch from Fresh 2.3.3 to this and I'm liking it alot so far. Fresh was good in the beginning but it seemed the longer I kept it on the phone, the slower my phone got. It eventually got to the point to where it was so laggy on everything that I was ready to throw the damn thing. This seems much faster from the get go and it don't have all the stuff I deem unnecessary to clog it up.

Did you push the application through the adb?

I flashed this Saturday and so far love it, I did switch over to Launcher pro because I couldn't figure out how to change dock icons with ADW.

I was getting random reboots but I flashed the overclock fix posted in the XDA thread and it seems to have fixed it, according to spare parts my phone hasn't rebooted since I flashed the fix.

One question though, I saw a lot of talk about the visual fix for the signal bars over on the XDA thread, is this fix strictly visual? Or does the amount of bars shown actually effect your signal? I only ask because I don't fully understand how to do the fix and if it's strictly visual I can live with it. So far I've never gone over 2 bars even in areas where I know I have high signal, but like I said if it's strictly visual I can live with it

Its visual. Since there are only 4 bars instead of 5 it automatically knocks one off.

Also, with ADW, to change the dock icons, you just long press an icon and drag it to the dock where you want it.

Edit: BTW, I have been going back and forth to this ROM from the Froyo builds. I have settled on DD 2.8 until the Froyo is finished. I really need the stability, and froyo still hgas progress to be made.

I also installed this on my brothers Hero. He instantly loved it, and didnt seem to mind that all the Sense stuff was gone.
 
OK bad news I just got a random reboot hopefully,no more,

And about adw I was talking abboit changing the specific icons,like with launcher pro I have a skull and crossbones as my app drawer icon
 
There is a fix for the random reboots in the second post of the DD2.8 thread on XDA. I had a LOT of random reboots in the two or three hours I tried using it, and just flashed back to a previous ZenEXP nandroid. This was before the fix was released I think, though I've heard some conflicting things about it. "YMMV" though.
 
yeah I flashed the so called fix for the random reboots and have still had one reboot in the 24 hours since I flashed it, maybe things will smooth out after awhile
 
I attempted to use a GPS application yesterday for the first time since flashing 2.8 and it doesn't work right. I also had been wondering why a self-locating weather app. wasn't working right and now I know why. The GPS isn't working properly with 2.8. Is this something only I'm experiencing or is their a fix for this? I never had a GPS issue with Fresh ROM's but I like this one much better overall.
 
OK I'm having some serious issues with this rom somebody please help me out.

First off this whole voicemail thing is making me want to throw this damn thing against the wall. I don't use google voice and I don't want to use google voice, I was having some problems with it so I wiped data and cache/dalvik about four times each, flashed just the rom and not the googleshits zip (thinking that if I didn't flash it google voice would not be installed) I flashed the rom and booted up and low and behold all of the google apps are there again despite not flashing the gapps zip. Also, my wallpaper stayed the same despite the wiping, I thought wiping reset everything?

so what's the deal with that?

Also, I have my voicemail settings set to "my carrier" and my number under the voicemail settings yet when I call and leave a message from my wife's phone the voicemail never shows up. I know it's there because I left it, and I get the new voicemail sms from 9016, but for some reason it never shows up.

I know this is a lot and I sound like I'm whining but I just can't get it figured out. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you so much for your help
 
My only suggestion is flash back to 2.7 since 2.8 isnt really as good as it seemed at first glance.

My 2.8 is running OK, GPS isnt very stable all the time. Get a reboot every now and then. Flashed the Froyo nightly just to see if it had got any better since RC1. So far so good. Try that as well.

To avoid things restoring themselves, you need to always wipe and then flash a Sense based rom between aosp roms. Also, I don't see any of the problems people speak of with this rom, it is far snappier and better overall than Darchdroid 2.7 in my experience.
 
when i flashed this rom and try to flash the google stuff, no google things would appear...any thoughts?

i wiped both things btw..
