Root Darkside Rom, Root, Voodoo all in one!

O_O

One stop shop!!! This right here might just be the ticket to get me over my fear of the dreaded brick!

2 questions:
- if I wanted to return my phone to stock from this, would I be able to?
- since this includes an OC rom, is there a way to dial back the OC to stock speed? I'm thinking of battery life.

Thanks for posting this! :D

EDIT: nevermind. The answers to both my questions are in the thread linked above. :D

Yes,and yes. You can flash back to to the stock rom via clockwork recovery and you can over or under clock with the voltage app or setcpu.read through all the form postings regarding the rom and then read the thread on roms and kernels.

.

If you install this and then go back to stock since it has voodoo will it give the dreaded bootloop/force close so the phone is unusable like what happened with some of the fascinates?

When you go back to stock, it's essentially flashing the stock ROM, which should include the stock kernel. Least that's how I've interpreted it. But I've never needed to go back to stock, I've just broken my phones completely. lol

I am still new to this phone but I believe you have to boot into recovery , scroll down to voodo and disable voodoo and voodoo system. Reboot and this change should take. Then you should be able to flash back to stock. This what I have gleened from my readings so I would definitly check it out from a more reliable source.

I have flashed Gummyjar over that top of darkside and it worked fine. Essentially the same rom but with gummy you can delete miren browser. With the link I posted to the darkside rome miren is built into the system and can only be taken out via titanium. It seems to change the browser experinece though and messes with my bookmarks on other browsers so I went to gummy.

I wasn't able to get this to work through CWM. Instead, create a file named "disable_lagfix" in /mnt/sdcard/voodoo and the lagfix will revert itself on the next boot. After that, you're safe to flash back to stock.

You can confirm that the lagfix is disabled by either opening terminal, going root (su), and issuing the "mount" command, or by running a Quadrant benchmark. If using the mount command, you're looking for the /system and /data partitions to be using "rfs", rather than "ext4". If using Quadrant, you're looking for a score in the 900s.
