Help Data Connectivity Problems

dwbrewer

Newbie
Driving into Atlanta this morning, my Thunderbolt lost all data connectivity. Stopped mobile networks and restarted. Connected 3G which is odd since Atlanta is 4G. Phone just now went to 1X. WTH?
I am rooted with the latest rooted Verizon build with the new radios.

I've been on 1X all morning in Philadelphia/South Jersey. I havent hereby able to get 3G either.

I am on LTE/cdma and i only have 3G, usually a strong 4g connection.

getting tired of these data outages. :(

1X here in Pittsburgh all day and still that way. But this is the norm anymore for me as I rarely have anything else any more and been this way for months 1X 80% of the time.

On the west Arizona valley (outskirts of metro Phoenix) where we finally got 4G earlier this year it sure has been intermittent.
Especially where I work.

It will intermittently lose ALL internet connectivity, not even showing a 1X in the display. Occasionally it will just go to 1X.
When it does this sometimes it doesn't want to go back to 3G or 4G.

During these times if I try to disable the mobile connection it just sort of hangs there with that menu grayed out.

I figured out that if I switch on the airplane mode and wait a few seconds for it to disable everything, that I can then turn airplane mode back off and usually get the internet connection back.

When I am at home or driving around I usually stay on 4G and can watch videos, etc no problem. In Phoenix it seems to be fine.

I think half of my problem at work is all the steel, concrete and massive amounts of electrical going on around me.

Pretty much the same thing in NYC for a few weeks now. Data will just turn on/off and switch between 1x, 3G and 4G. It used to be 4G 95% of the time and the rest 1x or no coverage. Rarely would I see 3G.

On a side note: Phone service hasn't been ll that great either.
