My note 2 was on 4G speed now its on E. I called T-Mobile they walked me through the steps on resetting it, but it didn't work. I just updated my phone to 4.1.2. And then I get 4G LTE I thought it was working till i turned it off and it went back to E. I put my sim card into a Samsung Galaxy s2 and I automatically get 4G. So the network in my area isn't its my note 2.

Has anyone had this problem before? Anyone have any suggestions of fixing it??

It may be a temporary problem due to working on reframing your area to enable HSPA+ on the 1900 band. Contact 611 again.

They told me to master restore it. But i figured why not update it. It updated and i got the 4G Lte speed and it changed to 3G and then back to E.

Nah bro the sim works fine in another phone.
All i can suggest is, as your carrier says, try a factory reset

Hello Murtillon.

Go into the "more settings" area of the main settings menu and tap "mobile networks." Then check to see which preferred network mode is dotted green. You may need to manually select the proper one for your network, such as "LTE/4G."

After making any change in there, back out then restart the device. ;)
