Data sim in America?

I'm taking my HTC Hero to America and want to know if there is a data sim that I can buy to use for Internet access while I'm there. Anyone know of any good ones? I'm in Australia.

It depends on what frequency bands Australia uses for 3G/HSPA. I know that European Heros can't use AT&T/T-Mobile data in the US, although I believe that GPRS/Edge work. The CDMA networks (Sprint, Verizon) are obviously no-go for GSM devices.
