Root Data Usage Notification on Root?

Ive been getting this data usage notification over and over and know its a problem thats yet to be resolved on the Incredible. But if I root my phone will that resolve the space issue and notification defects? Been thinking about rooting anyway..

Can't guarantee you won't have the problem but you have more powerful tools at your disposal to try and alleviate it. There are some pretty aggressive cache management programs out there for root. I use Cache Mate and it's a good app.
