Help Data usage while tethering

Going to tether my DHD to my ASUS Transformer. My question is will i use more data tethering than i would by just using my DHD on its own to connect to the internet?
Cheers.

You'll probably use more because you won't be going to the mobile version of each site, you'll be going to the full site. Even so it depends on your data limit. If you have a high one then you will be OK, just don't be on it too long. That's another thing to look out for.

If you plan on using it all day then test it first using an app like 3G watchdog. Connect for an hour or so, disconnect and 3G watchdog will add on how much you used to your current limit. It doesn't update in real time though hence the connect/disconnect.

Also, if your tethering a PC all the auto-update on the software installed still run in the background.

I had to tether to my laptop last night (they've taken away the wireless router at work) and in a 5 or so hours of light-medium on and off usage (the majority of which was spent on here), I think I used about 80MB. Not a massive amount, but I can imagine I'd rack it up if I was watching youtube videos/Sky Go/iPlayer etc.

I'll let you know how I get on after a few days usage.

Cheers guy's, will hold on until the end of month data reset so i have the whole of my massive 750MB:rolleyes: to play about with and see how i get on.
