Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

To be honest, with the way everyone's getting their phones ahead of schedule, I wouldn't be surprised that ours get sent out a bit earlier as well. I'm just trying to not get my hopes up about it. It just sucks, every day stuck with my iPhone is another day I'm pissed off I didn't switch earlier haha
 
I got my email last night, it'll be here tomorrow by 7pm. I have work 9-1 then 5-10 so no playing with it tomorrow, it'll fully charge i guess tho haha. i think waiting for a shipping notice was a lot easier than waiting for it to actually be delivered!

agreed. knowing it actually exists makes it that much more frustrating.

A lot of people do, I won't though. I know battery issues are a big thing and I don't want anything to disrupt the first charge.

edit: tomorrow is my lucky day too! won't be home at all to play with it (only to charge) but no work on thursday so it's just me and my phone in bed all day :) hahaha

yup to avoid the signature issue i had mine shipped to my buddy's office across the street from my apt. Someone is there all day to sign for any packages so i dont have to worry about missing the fedex man! :)

i see. Sweet!! looks like we are getting our phones around the same time. lets see who gets the lemon out of the two :p jp hope there is none for either of us. I am prolly gonna have my mom text me when the lovely package arrives so i can call out for lunch then go home to start charging it and go back to work. At this point i wish i had given my resignition in earlier. oh well.

a bit anal on the battery stuff. been lurking around some other threads but you guys think i should not turn it on at all and leave it on charge for 8 hours straight or till the light turns green?

My theory is that the green light will turn on before 8 hours right? Either way, i'm not going to turn my phone on until 8 hours after it goes on the charger. I checked Fedex and it left the Fedex place in Newark, NJ so I'm assuming i'll get it in the early morning. I'll be home from work around 1pm, so i'll plug it in then.. and turn it on around 9pm at night.. and amen to that hoping we both don't have problems!
 
I ordered mine in store on 7/11 and couldn't wait so sent Verizon an email and got the following response:

the estimated shipping date for orders where payment was taken on 7/4-7/15 are now expected to ship by 8/2. Regrettably I do not have an exact date as to when your phone will ship. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. You will receive email notification once your phone has been shipped. Also, once your order has been shipped there will be a Fed Ex tracking number that can be used to track your delivery.

hope it comes soon!

I don't think you'll have a problem with it. (unless you root). Android literally tells you how to use the phone.

The green light goes on after 2 hours. It's painful to watch it sit there after that. I took it off after 6 hours - I just couldn't wait anymore!!

Then I charged it full again before I went to sleep, left it off the charger overnight for 8 hours, played around with the phone on and off during my work day but it had low battery by about 2pm after being on for like 16 hours. I charged it full again at work, and battery life seems to be improving so far... we shall see... I've been using it since i got home from work (around 730p) and still have about 40% battery left.

I do not like the option buttons at the bottom at allll. Regardless hopefully it's that easy. I can't wait to find apps and use pandora. And the barcode scanner!

I'm glad it's improving! I'm hoping to get mine before 1pm. I'll put it on the charger at 2pm, hangout and go to work 5-9 and com home and it'll be ready for me to spend the next like 48 hours with it :) haha
