Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

i wonder what the chances are that it will get here within a day instead of the standard 2-day delivery? im just in northern VA so not far from PA... hmmmmm. :p

At this point, I feel justified in getting twitchy. Good thing I can't check that e-mail account from here, otherwise I'd be pinging that refresh button faster than the speed of light....;P

The other day you said that everybody who's didn't ship yet won't go out til 8/2. Are you getting this info from somewhere or just speculating?

cs has told me and others posting on here that 8/2 was ur day if it hadn't shipped yet HOWEVER look at all the phones going out, so my gut says they were lying to us.

My online FedEx tracking info said Std Overnight w/Indirect Sig. Expected Delivery 7/21. I didn't pay or request for any special shipping when I ordered online.

It's coming from West Chester, PA to Lakeville, MA.

Why tell customers something that's not definite (telling them their phone will ship early) and risk upsetting them and getting themselves into trouble, when they can tell them something true (phone will by 8/2 at latest) and have the customer be extremely happy when they're package arrives early?

meh, either way, its all up in the air.

True. Just stating from a business perspective. They're not actually "lying" rather just not trying to create false hope. Obviously they know phones will be sent out early but they don't know to who and how many

bah... mine was the standard free 2nd day delivery from verizon when i ordered online. i seem to remember that in the past few years ive ordered other stuff "ground" or 2nd day and it gets here early if its not coming from too far away. hmm... ill keep my fingers crossed! :D

Oh yeah, there's that. I live near one of the Verizon call centers (Lincoln, NE) and I know some of the...uhm...'special' people that work there. Not sayin' they're all idiots, but some of them are.

And if you want some truly crazy customer service stories, go check out the 'Fed ex lost my phone' thread in this section. It all depends on who you talk to, and what kind of mood that person is. I mean, in that thread, one person lied about being a supervisor! With half the call ins, it sounds like they're just giving standard answers when they're not being absolutely crazy. ;P

Moral of story : CS representatives are not terribly reliable, sadly.

just a quick questiom i ordered in-store on 6/28 so im hoping it,ll ship sometime soon but as i understand it i wont recieve an email notification because i ordered in-store so would i have to call cs for an update?

Not necessarily.

It does seem like online orders get the e-mails a little more frequently, but not enough of a difference to matter. Some folks get their phones without the slightest inkling that they shipped, no notification, nothin'. A call *might* not give you a 100% factual answer, but it's worth a shot at the very least. :)

Call em!

I have a friend that works at the verizon call center near Nashville and he is awesome, he knows everything. He loves talking about all the customers that call in. A lot of time he gets calls from people that bought smart phones that have no clue what they are doing. There are a lot of dumb callers lol.
But I would have to agree some people in the call center don't know what they are doing. The worst are the salesmen in the stores because they try to sell you things you don't need or don't know what they are talking about. When I went to order my Incredible in the store all they wanted to do was sell me the Droid X. I was like no way! Its all about the commission .

Ok now I am getting frustrated! I ordered the 29th online and haven't gotten a shipping notification yet. How are people who ordered on the 30th getting theirs? I did receive the pending activation message when dialing *611 on the 18th though.

im in the same boat i ordered online on 6/29 and i have no email yet. i hope the day wasnt just forgotten! come on send me my shipping info NOW!!!

I ordered in store on the 28th as well. The guy asked me for my e-mail address so I am assuming that means they should e-mail me. But I would call or e-mail them. That's what I am going to do

Hello my fellow prisoners...
I am back like all my predecessors to let you all know that the DInc is totally awesome and worth the 30 day (may be shorter for you) wait.
Been fooling around with it for the past 5 days and still find tones of new uses everyday.

Please charge as you get the phone till the light turns green...(its hard but u wont regret). I got 6 hrs on the first day and I now get close to 11 hrs (14hrs when I don't use it much).

Happy Waiting..

In store reps are IDIOTS. They should shut down all stores.
