Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

I sent this note to Verizon:
I called and inquired this morning and was told my phone is shipping overnight either today or tomorrow so I will have it by Friday.( I hope the guy on the phone was more correct than you.) If not, I'll be patient a little longer. Since I got that email telling me I was also receiving a gift card because of the wait (and my patience), I figure I am way ahead! Looking forward to the phone. I already have a full sized User's guide, which I ordered online and received free, plus an extra battery and protective case. I AM READY!!!!!Thanks again!

This is what I got back:
At this time there has been no change in shipping. As Laura mentioned in an early reply the shipping date has been pushed out about ten days. I apologize for any inconvenience this matter may have caused. However, due to the delay we will be sending you a $25.00 Gift Card. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

You have been a loyal Verizon Wireless customer since January 1997, and that longevity is greatly appreciated. Thank you for using Verizon Wireless products and services. We appreciate your business.

Take a look at the progress from yesterday and draw your own conclusions. I am getting a different answer from every person I talk to. How about the truth the first time? I ordered direct from Verizon on the 6th of June. That's when they deducted the amount from my bank account. So my money has been in their hands for 3 and a half weeks, and what have I got to show for it? Excuses and double talk.

Well, I thought I was a 6/7, but come to find out I'm a 6/8. I ordered in store and they said my ship date was 6/28. But, all the CSRs I've talked to said it wasnt processed until the 8th because I ordered after 7pm. No hope for having it this weekend, but hopefully it will be here next week sometime. They did say I'd be getting a $25 gift card and he was going to send me a text when it ships, but I won't hold my breath on that one. I just voiced my frustration, not necessarily at the delay, but the lack of communication. I would have never known about it if it weren't for finding this forum. That's crazy to me. If they knew about the issue you would think they would communicate that with their customers. Anyway, beating a dead horse at this point.

Notification did come yesterday but I had two-day shipping which means I'll have to wait til sometime tomorrow :(... but I'm not complaining at this point. Will be nice to have it by the weekend!

CRAP!! So now they're saying you're a 6/8? Three cheers to Verizon for f**king things up again. Feel free to continue to vent... we're here to listen. God knows we've done our fair share of venting. So basically they don't care when you actually ordered, it's pretty much the day they stole your money (I mean PROCESSED your order) is what they're going by, I guess? :mad:
 
Well looks like a bunch of west coast orders went out yesterday after I signed off. Memphis is the only one dropping the ball, of course. I did choose overnight shipping when I ordered, so I can still get shipping notice today and get it friday. We'll see.

Congrats on your phone shipping. I did recieve the email for the $25 gift card, so I imagine I should recieve email when my phone ships.
 
I called CS yesterday to see if they even had record of my order or could see where it was placed (6/7), they said no they couldnt even see the order.... i got up from work and went str8 to the Verizon store with receipt in hand.... after waiting 1.5 hours becuase of being no. 17 on queue, a firendly guy named Chet looked at my receipt and stated i should already have it.... he said let me go check inventory..... im thinking, wait u have these things here??? he came back and called CS from store and they told him it shoudl ship within a week.... i was like sure....

I had been considering cancelling order and waiting for droid x, but after playing with the incredible (which has been run through a gauntlet in store) there is no way the X can be that much better if any.... the Incredible is smaller than i thought leading me to think the X may not be to big (a tablet as most people say), I asked Chet if he thought the X would be much better and he said he didnt..... maybe biased because he had incredible.....

Only pertinent point to this post is that he said he could also see the same exact thing happen with the X.... He said they would get a few in the store and once they sold out.... well you know how it goes.... so i am going to wait for INC

6/28 - first call to CSR - was told the phone shipped, but no tracking number (yeah right)
6/29 - second call to CSR - was told phone would ship 7/2 5 day delay
6/29 - received email with $25 gift card promise
6/30 - got all from Verizon. I am eligible to upgrade my phone. Lol had fun with her. She confirmed at least 5 day delay.
6/30 - received tracking info email. 1 day shipping. Will be at my office by 3:00 pm 7/1.
Bad news. I don't go to the office today. Guess I will see the phone in the morning. :)

I placed my order on June 26th... don't you guys feel better now? Haha I knew I would have to wait a month, but had no idea that the phone had been backordered since the middle of May. I still want the phone though, it's only been 5 days and i'm dieing already, don't know how you guys are making it. I'm hoping (this won't happen though) that maybe in a week they're have tons and tons to ship and i'll get mine really early :)

Hopefully! I feel like a lot of people have gotten shipping info in the past two days, i'll keep my fingers crossed for ya. I ordered 5 days ago, and everytime i check my email i'm hoping for shipping info haha.

My Inc is on the charger. So far I have lovingly put my new SD card in, put the battery in, applied the screen protector, put on the gradient case (which I got at a screamin' deal price at the VZ store), and checked out my car mounting system. (The Arkon SM015-2 is the wrong holder; it won't work because the grips cover the charging port... what you want is the kit that includes the SM040-2. I know that now. And so do you.)

I did not get a 2nd SD card. That's ok, I wouldn't have been likely to use it anyway at only 2GB. What matters is that I have the Incredible, and I can smile at it and think pleasant thoughts as I watch it charge.

Unfortunately I have to go to work tomorrow. Argh! So... no playing with phone yet.

Guess I'm one of the first 6/7s to get lucky. For those of you who had an earlier order date and a later ship date, hang in there.

It is so frustrating being so close, knowing that if I get shipping notice today, I get my phone tomorrow, if I get shipping notice tomorrow, I don't get it till tuesday. Please, ship my phone today!
