Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

Boo :( So not only do I have to wait for the estimated ship date of 7/16 (which won't likely arrive until 7/19 or 7/20) but then I have to wait an additional 6-8 hours?

I mean, I did the overnight first charge for every other phone I have ever had but I wasn't excited about those phones. This is my first multimedia!!

ETA - Although... I could just mess up the stock battery and not even care! I already have my 1500 here and waiting for something to put it in. So if I just charge up the stock battery for 2 hours and then start playing, I can then do the real 6-8 hour charge later with the 1500 I will actually be using!!

How much was the 1500? where did you get it? and how much space does it take up in the back??

I would still suggest the 8 hour charge. Since the phone has never been turned on, it will look at the voltages of the first use and can store those as full and empty reminders.

I just saw a glimpse of a new big V commercial. Not sure if it was for a phone or for their service. Something about rule the air????

Yes its a comercial for the droid phones expecially the x because they mention be you own wifi for other devices. And the girl is carrying around an x.

Absolute comedy!

You do NOT have to charge your phone, When I first got mine I ran it until it died and have had absolutely no problems aside from short battery life when continuously running apps and media on your phone. Dont believe everything you hear and enjoy this INCREDIBLE device (pun intended) you waited long enough now fire it up!

Hello all...
ordered online 6/16 with an estimated ship date "by 7/15", so I'm exercising patience and reading up here and elsewhere... replacing my LG Dare... off today to BB for an Invisishield to gaze at fondly while I ponder the wording of my note for the doorstep... "Leave It Please"?
Nothing by way of notifications to report as yet.

The eagle has landed.... was signed for by someone at another office who actually had the audacity to open the box and try to figure out what it was....

Never the less i have it on charger as we speak.... the inside of the box was neon green... is this how others' boxes were?? does this mean its not the amoled screen?? i dont really care either way just curious

Mine is neon green as well. I thought they were "looking into" switching the screens, but didn't think they had yet. Woudl they really be able to switch them out in production that quickly??

Tempting i must admit, especially since larger batteries are cheaper than i woulda thought and dont require a larger back

Someone please let me know if I'm going to run into any problems that I'm not anticipating this afternoon.

My plan is this
1) Phone shows up
2) Charge phone for 8 hours
3) Activate phone on primary line
4) Immediately switch phone, insurance, etc, to secondary line
5) Immediately Re-activate original primary phone on primary line

I read something about having to wait 24 hours before switching to a secondary line. If there's any truth to that I'm gonna flip my shit.

6/15 here just called VZW and they said expect it to ship by 7/13.
One thing I've learned from reading these pages: NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING A CSR SAYS TO YOU. You could call back right now and get a different rep that tells you something totally opposite. Just keep the faith! I'm a 6/15er too.

Congrats, RedSox! I'm happy for you! :p You're gonna be so happy when you get your hands on that phone!!
Hey stranger!! Long time no see TP:rolleyes:

IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered 6/8
Shipped 7/2
Arrived 7/6

It is sitting on my desk charging right now. For those who thought waiting for the phone to ship was bad, I don't know how I am going to stare at this sleak beauty until the red light turns green without turning it on.

It has been a heck of a wait, but for all those waiting....there is hope, it will ship. Good luck for all those waiting on notices today. I think I'll still hang around and keep rooting for y'all.
Congrats!!

Holy hell.... A fed ex truck came to our office building, but i guess my delivery is on the afternoon truck.... damn
Its about time, Glad you are finally getting it

How does the *611 notification work. Does it just tell you that as soon as you dial in or do you have to press a few buttons to get to a specific menu?
As soon as you turn it on it prompts you to do it, you can't do anything else until you activate

switched mine to secondary line as soon as i did the 8 hour charge, activated it on secondary line, had to call though cause the upgrade i used wasn't for the line i activated for.

No no no!!! Don't do it!

Since you have time to wait on shipping, order it from Zagg, it's cheaper.

Best Buy is $20.99 + tax.

Zagg.com is $14.99, no tax. Then use the coupon code ZAGG20 and get $3 off (20%).

CHARGE IT FOR THE FULL 8 HOURS!!!!!! THIS IS INCREDIBLY (no pun intended) IMPORTANT!!!

Sorry, had to get that out of the way. I was lucky enough to have my Droid Inc. that I ordered on launch day. I used it from 6/2-6/15 which is when a simple overnight charge fried the phone. A battery error had come up saying to disconnect because it was the wrong charger (even though it was the one it came with). Long story short it put too much (or too little possibly) power into the phone which completely killed it. Not even a new battery/charger would work. I blame this partly on the fact that I used this thing right out of the box rather than charge it. Keep in mind this issue didn't come up for a full 2 weeks of use.

My logic is that it thought the phone only had "x" needed for battery power but since I didn't let the charge settle when I first got it that it was feeding it the wrong amount of power.

I know someone got flamed for talking about this in another thread but I am letting you guys know so you don't have to wait ANOTHER full month as I am to get your DInc. :(

On that note...re-ordered 6/15 in store (under DOA policy...therefore FREE!:D) and am expecting it to ship by 7/14. Looking on the verizon forums, people that ordered on 6/13 got theirs today, so I am hoping to have mine by weeks end.

Either way I am taking it back to verizon on 7/15 and trading it up for a X

I expected tons of notifications today. Has anyone received an email or tracking number? I had hoped the long weekend would give them a chance to get somewhat caught up, and today would be joy and happiness on here;)

Really need to hear some good news....

I don't mean to be argumentative but that really doesn't make any sense...

Lots of people get the phone, use the stock battery for a couple of days or even weeks and then decide they need more power and upgrade to a larger battery. How would that be any different?

When the line answers it says thank you for calling verizon and then it says something in spanish and then right after that, without pressing any buttons, it says you have a device pending activation. At that point I waited for customer service and asked for a tracking number. When I got a person, they said they couldn't give me the tracking number because they were having an issue with their system and they would call me back. Then they actually called me this morning with the tracking number - used it and my baby is on the truck for delivery today. :)

Just called and got that message, waiting on hold to see if I can get a tracking number from them...
