I am doing the same thing!! I work from home but I take calls like in a call center so I am dying here thinking they are going to show up when I am on the phone with a customer and I won't be able to get to the door fast enough. I have my kids on lookout though so if I can't make, one of them should be able to. In fact, I instructed them that they are not allowed to leave the living room until it arrives! haha!
Just a little excited? I think my hands will be shaking when I finally see that beautiful phone

Just got a ring on my doorbell. MY PHONE HAS ARRIVED 
Ordered in store 6/7
Estimated Ship Date: 6/28
My guess on when it actually shipped: 7/2??
Delivery Date: 7/6
received no shipping email...man im glad I didn't have to work today...
so now i just have to wait and let it charge (how long am I supposed to let it charge for?)

Well no notification yet and I can't bring my Verizon phone into my work area, so I will give *611 a try when I get home tonight.

I never did this with past phones but as I said in an earlier post, I would try to power through (no pun intended) the 8 hours (or at least 4 hours which should give it a full charge.... I really doubt 8 is needed). I say this only because I did not do this, and the reason for my device's failure was the battery drawing too little power from the charger for too many charges. Before anyone says "BS, it still works" it took 2 weeks for this to happen.
Again, I could be grasping at answers here, but I'm just restating what happened to me.

Some food for thought....
So I called and CS they said that my phone should be here no later than 7/16 ...no it has not shipped so I'm not believing it. But right after he gave me the "gauranteed" 7/16 date he went on to say that it could be shipped earlier or later. He said that they are getting A LOT of phones shipped so I could even get mine this week if everything keeps going the way its suppoed to. (Believe it when I see it.) The bigger kicker is he was quoting off of 6/16 orders and I had to state that it didnt process until 6/17. He said "Oh. That shouldnt effect your shipping." I dont think he even looked at my account!!!!!!
Also, not sure how true it is so....CSR stated that they are still with the amoled screens that they wouldnt be changing until they caught up on all the back orders. Then he said something about how the ones that have already ordered placed the order for a phone with the amoled screen. That when they do change there will be a note of some sort in place so that when you order you will be told that the phone will either have the amoled or not. Again not sure how accurate, just a little gossip for everyone.
I asked him about the charging for 6-8 hour thing too. His response, "Plug it in, turn it on and play with it while it is charging." Said it will take longer to get a complete charge but at least after waiting so long I wouldnt have to wait for it to charge completly before turning it on.

I don't mean to be argumentative but that really doesn't make any sense...
Lots of people get the phone, use the stock battery for a couple of days or even weeks and then decide they need more power and upgrade to a larger battery. How would that be any different?
Is anyone able to answer this? My idea was to simply charge the stock battery for about 2 hours and play around with my phone for a while. Then do the real 8 hour charge with the 1500 battery that I got and will actually be using (hence not caring if I screw up the stock one since I won't use it again).
If people really think this won't work then okay, I will be patient and just wait. But as it is I won't have my phone until at least the 16th (more likely the 19th or 20th) and I am already going nuts. I don't know how I will sit there staring at it for 8 hours without playing with it!

Words cannot describe how amazing this peice of equipment is..... I do not see how it could be any faster or more resonsive.... I have always just wanted a phone to at least compete with the Iphone and this is definately better than Iphone 3g....
No experience with 4g, but not sure how it could be any faster or "snappy"
Went through a phase where i wanted to cancel this and wait for X.... i am very pleased i did not do that either, signal is great internet is blazing, i can see all my fantasycasts and such just like on my computer
