Heh heh! I've been here, off and on, more off than on, once I finally received my DInc.
Now THOSE were some high-energy, frustrating and anxious times! I'm sure all the VZW CSRs are thinking the same thing. For all the people who have been around here only the past month and haven't bothered to read the entire thread, they have no idea what 'waiting' was about, eh? LOL It would appear that this thread is just about finished, now though
I just checked and for 8/3, the WSB date is 8/6. Well, it was bound to happen. (Of course, now the X is pushed out to the 19th...and the CSRs cringe again) I'll see you on the rest of the forums!
Indeed it has been frustrating and anxious to get this phone. You guys wanna hear all the CRAP I've gone through to get this phone? My story is a little different though because I'm in China (i'm not asian btw). Well, I've been trying to get this amazing device since April 29th, the day it came out. But they didn't have it here. I should mention that China has a HUGE and amazing phone market, pretty much everything you want is out here...except this, except the best phone. They had iphones, and you name it, but not this one. So, I went on a popular Chinese website like Ebay called taobao. Sure enough there were sellers advertising the phone and so I EAGERLY inquired: out of stock...next seller: out of stock. Thats when I learned there was a supply issue and for the next month, I patiently kept reading the news and updates and checking with the sellers only to get the same dissappointing replies.
Well, Along rolls July and I find a new seller that says yeah, we've got this phone in stock, we've had it since last month! Hoooooraayyyy!!! But wait...It needs to be unlocked(rooted,jailbroken,whatever) so that I can use it here. He said this would take about 2-3days and then he'd send me the phone. So I gladly did a bank transfer (they were a trusted seller with guarantees and certificates) with them and sent them the money and they got to work on my phone. Along goes a week..."where's my phone? you guys done unlocking it yet?" "well, we're having some difficulties with that. Its taking longer than expected. Really sorry" Several more days pass....."WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? If you can't unlock it then send my money back" "Ok, if we can't do it by Friday we'll send your money back"....So just as Friday is coming I check online and see an even more popular seller with a higher rating carrying the phone. I ask him about it and he says "yeah, we can unlock it easy, in one day. no problem" I say "what? no way" and question him further. He's like "yeah, seriously. 100%. you'll have it in two days" I then think HOLY CRAP! I need to get my money back from those other slow pricks so I can get this thing! Friday comes and I tell the other guys "so, did you sent me my money back, cause you haven't been able to unlock it yet." and they send me a message back saying "yes, we have sent you your money back. It arrive in your account within one or two days". I then think "SWEEET!@ now I can get it from this other great seller!" So I immediately go and pay AGAIN for this phone and send the money to the new seller.
Well guess what? Sure enough that second seller was the real deal. He unlocked it and got it to use the 3G service here in ONE DAY and I got it the NEXT!!! I got my phone literally 2days after paying. So then its 3 days later and I still haven't got my money back from the first sellers...Then I get a message and guess what those ****ers said? "Hi! sorry you haven't got your money back, the bank sent it back to us due to an error. But good news! We're now able to unlock your phone for you if you still want it!" ......I wanted to teleport to where they were and cut their friggin' heads off with the phone itself. These little pricks were now trying to keep my money and give me the phone AFTER telling me they'd sent my money and I'd already paid for another one!!!!
So as it stands: I'm happy and angry. I have my new wonderful phone and its all I had ever hoped for and more. But...I'm still waiting for my money back from the first time I paid for phone. If these guys try and steal it, then I will have paid DOUBLE PRICE and WAITED 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT to get this thing. You guys have no idea how frustrating it is sometimes to deal with some of these sneaky Chinese rats. Now, the other seller he was/has been awesome. By the way, ALL of this was done in CHINESE, using my intermediate Chinese skills and google translate. I seriously think the stress this whole ordeal put on me may have reduced my lifespan by a couple of months or a year. Anyways, I doubt anyone read all of this and if you did, congratulations and I appreciate it. Let's enjoy our Incredibles that were incredibly hard to get!
EDIT: The phone was and has been sold/in stock on that Chinese site since late June. Maybe that's part of the reason they were back ordered. Other countries or sellers like these buying em up before they get sent to the states? Afterall, HTC is in Taiwan. But I don't think they've sold all that many. I'm the only guy around here with one that I can see.
