Day 1 Availability?

Maybe not the 50 dollar credit they def do NE2 though

I can get a new contract through Best Buy if that's what you mean, but they don't give the NE2 credit. Since I'm an old customer, my credit is $100 (not $50) and I will not be giving up buying the phone at 50% off. I'm too cheap.

yeah well its a $50 dollar credit now anyway it got changed Ive been a customer for almost 7 years and when i went in they told me its no longer $100 credit

I pre-ordered mine through Best Buy too. They said they expect at least ten units to arrive, and when I placed my pre-order, I was the second one to do so, so it's a virtual certainty I'll have it that day. Hope so, since I'm going out of town the next day and would love to have it for the trip. :)

I hope they have a good accessory selection... mainly I want the silicone skin and a screen protector. Since this thing uses the micro-USB port, I'm hoping my car charger for my POS BB Storm will work on it so I don't have to buy another.

i would think that the power delivery pin spec for micro USB would be a standard, and thus the BB adapter should work fine. i am in the identical situation.

can anyone confirm that micro USB power is micro USB power, regardless of mfg.?

A micro USB is a micro USB. When I got my original BB Storm, I wanted to use an old BB wall charger that had a mini USB as a spare to keep at work. I bought a Motorola mini USB to micro USB adapter cable (originally made for Motorola Razr) and was able to use it with the old BB wall charger. It even worked with USB cable with mini USB so I could connect the Storm to my laptop.

Hope this helps! :)

I talked to salesperson at one of my local VZW stores and he said he is expecting 15 Droid X's for the July 15th launch. He also said a lot of people have told him they want the Droid X so I should come when the store opens (10 am because it is located in a mall) to get one.

I was told by my local store they would have plenty. And I sure hope so since if the phone does not land early I am on vacation when it hits and will not be back until that Sunday. Meaning I can not go to the store until Monday morning. But they even told me they would have plenty for then. Not sure and I do not want to buy it while gone since I live in a state without sales tax and the state I will be in charges tax on the full retail amount of the phone.

What state doesn't charge sales tax?

I wonder why they call it new in 2? It should be 50.00 off unless you buy and old crap phone in two.:p

I received shipment for our store today, and 70 DX's came in for launch. It is still early, but we may get more next week. Our store is known to have big launch days, so with 70, we may sell out considering how many people are anxious about the phone. I have to say, it really is a nice phone.

Some stores may have less inventory depending on their track record of how many phones were sold on previous launch days

Salesperson at local VZW store in the mall is hoping to get 15 Droid X's (I guess that is the average they get for new phone launch). He said a lot of people have been asking for the Droid X and he told me to come when the store opens (10 am) or I might not get one on the 15th.:(

Have not been there in 2 years but is that still a cart? If so I would go to the normal store they had in town. It should get many more units.

It used to be $100 dollars. and its new every 2 not new in 2. they call it that because esentially you are getting a new phone every two years

Yes, the NE2 program used to be a $100 credit towards the purchase of a new phone. It was an incentive to keep you with Verizon when your 2 year contract was up. Then a couple years ago they lowered it to $50 when you got a new phone after 2 years.

I still have a NE2 credit of $100 because I haven't used it since they changed the program so essentially I'll get my Droid X for $99 with a $100 MIR. But when I use it this time, that will be it. Next time my NE2 will only be $50.

So, I'm, Patiently/Impatiently waiting for the release of the Droid X!

I called the 2 closest corporate stores in ATL yesterday afternoon. The first said they did not know how many shipments they were getting, and there would be NO demo unit and they would not be opening early for launch.

The second said they were getting a demo unit in the next 2 days and they were told to expect enough phones for 2 weeks of sales in the first shipment. She stated 3 times that it would be "nothing like the Incredible launch/fiasco, there will be enough phones for anyone who wants one." She also said they would open early for the launch.

Even if she's exaggerating, I'm pretty confident I'll be able to get the phone on day 1.

First post...

I had an Incredible on order that wasn't scheduled to ship until the 28th of July, so I canceled that order yesterday and went to one of the small, independent Verizon stores (not the huge corporate store) and told them that I wanted to upgrade to the X. He took my information and told me he would put one aside for me when they came in would give me a call. He said that they generally come in the day before the launch and he would have no problem giving it to me then...so I may be getting it on the 14th.

I'm sure it all depends on the store and the people working there but it seems to me the employees in the smaller stores value your business a lot more than they may at the bigger Verizon stores.....I just can't see them doing the same thing.

How early are they opening. Im in Marietta GA.....I NEED MY X LOLZ!:D

Hire does that work? Do you pay some other tax in its place?

Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatal
Income tax.

Some states don't have income tax, but get revenues through sales taxes (i.e. Florida).

What's also shocking is that some states don't try to spend their way into prosperity. ;)

They didn't have an answer. The Ponce store was helpful. The Howell Mill store sucks every time I've ever called or walked in.

I'm sure there are stores closer to Marietta but I'm downtown.

I just got back from my local verizon store in a town of about 25K people. The guy said they will have an inventory of 60 units and that a lot of people have come in to ask about this phone. They had one working demo unit in the back that they got me to play with. It was AWESOME!!! The employee said to check back monday to see if they would open up early but he said to definitely show up early.
