Day 1 Availability?

I posted it in other thread, but I just came back from my local corporate store (LA), hoping to see live unit (did not happen), talked to csr, he said they received 40 units yesterday, and expecting more on next Wednesday, but they don't know how many. He also mentioned that a LOT of people asking about DX, and hi advised to be in store at the time they open doors. He also said, that particular store will be open in regular hours
 
I think alot of it is them just wanting you to come get the phone. Now im sure people are asking about it but i know personally in my area when the inc was released i was in and out and had no wait but a few days prior on the phone the rep told me to be there early because they had such demand when in fact they didnt have that high of demand overall. By hyping it up it makes people even more anxious to be there early to get it even if they have plenty to last atleast a day or two. JMO
 
I hope you right, because there is no way I can be in store by 10 am, I'm off work by 2 pm the earliest.
 
i mean im sure in some areas there is pretty high demand but with all of those who got incredibles and are sticking with that phone there shouldn't be nearly as much demand for the X i would think. Who knows though i could be wrong
 
I was one of those who got incredible, and returned it. And there are many more who did same thing. Incredible is fun device, but failed as the phone...

Maybe in your area but around here alot of people have the incredible and are more then satisfied with it. Not everyone is able to keep buying new phones alot of people stick with phones for the 2 years they are locked down in contract. Atleast around here thats how it is anyway
 
What really sucks is after i get my phone i have to work till 5 thats guna blow...guess it will be charged tho
 
Just check my local VZ store today. Rep I talked with had not heard of the early upgrade deal yet, but said they usually don't find out until the last minute (seems like it's beyond the last minute now, but whatever). I asked about the Droid X, she said they had one and was about to get it for me to play with, then she was stopped by another rep, apparently that was a no-no and they had gotten in trouble for it (oh, the humanity!). Needless to day, she said they got 10 Droid Incs for that launch and sold out in four days. So I should be good. Lucky for me I live in a small town.

Just got off the phone with my local VZW corporate store. They finally got a DX in but said I have to ask to see it at the counter and that they will not have it on display yet. Worst part they said was that they will be first come, first serve with nobody allowed to be put on a list beforehand and they only have get this...TWENTY units to sell on launch day. I live in the suburbs but it's a big store. Was very surprised to hear this.

The more I hear the more I'm thinking I better get a tent for Wednesday night. 20 units ? is that typical inventory for a launch day for a new high end smart phone?
 
I just talked to a rep at my local store. She said that they are scheduling appointments for Thursday. The store will open at 7:30 AM but only for those with apts. They have had a lot of people asking about them and are expecting to sell out (their store) before the day is out. She said it might be hard to get one if I just walk in. They still don't have one for us to see yet, but thought they would early next week.

It's still $100 if you signed your last contract prior to VZW changing terms/conditions of the NE2 program, which I did. My next contract will drop down to a $50 NE2, which in my opinion should now be named the "Discount Every Two" program.
 
Got to play with a demo unit at my local corp. store. Very nice and not nearly as big as everyone is complaining about. Should be the perfect size for me (that's what she said). He did say they would be opening an hour early on Thursday and had heard they were only getting 20 units by launch day with maybe a second shipment in time for the weekend rush.
 
Finally got to play with it today also..i was pretty happy with it...it didnt seem choppy scrolling like some have said...pretty close to the inc. lw was off tho. Pictures where a bit duller then the inc also. screen was pretty nice tho...cant wait, also cant believe there only going to have 14 so wierd.....
