You guys are awesome. Remicks has received a new (well, used) Ally for development thanks to you guys.



Dear all Ally friends.
The StormDroid Team needs YOUR help!
One of the main devs, remicks, has run into quite a snag in development.
His Ally is no longer operational, leaving his development on the StormDroid and OverStocked ROMs quite crippled. We have come here to ask for any type of donation.

CGraham is selling his for 45 to me. But I will lend it over to you guys and you can talk to him about it. He told me that it just needs a new battery. I was gonna buy it until I saw this. I was gonna buy it for testing purposes :/. But i told my self to just hand it over to someone that really needs it.:o:cool:

Thanks! We are currently working something out with a member (who will remain anonymous, unless he wants to have his name out there) right now, but we'll get back to your if that deal goes south.
 
I have 2/3 bricked.. xD

Its amazing how I'M the only one who manages to full brick these things.

Pretty resilient little device though xD

Unsure how it bricked the first time, but when I ran the unbrick guide everything went fine until my USB cable decided to freak out and disconnect/reconnect during the restore... Chalk one up for faulty USB cords/ports...

Did you try other computers?? and/or different usb cables remicks?
 
And this is why im putting money away for an android development board lol
Basically a tablet without a case and programmable though serial/parallel connections to your personal computer or a physical avd i suppose

rgocal. He used the unbrick guide, that restores STOCK recovery. It disconnected mid-restore. therefore corrupted the file system. Even if he had a custom recovery, or had the capability of flashing one, it most likely wouldn't do any good. I have bricked ally where only 3 partitions are okay, and thats the splash/boot/recovery. the rest are corrupt. there is no fix for that. the chip(s) are toast.
 
Y'all mentioned that you did a partial brick vs a full brick.

Now I'm no mason but... what?

Is there a brick-o-meter y'all are using?

I think I have bricked an Ally and now I'm not sure if it's fully bricked or just a half of a brick. Either way, if I can't fix it I will give it to whoever wants it.

When you say bricked..Will it boot past the splash image? Can you get into recovery? Will it boot at all? Do you have fastboot?
 
probably no fastboot. Ive have that happen, loose connection while flashing, and it went to the blue fastboot screen where I used allyr&r app to get things running again.
