Lurker
hi
Im using htc desire, and i downloaded go launcher. but i want to use GO Launcher as default, i tried lots to keep but when i press home key everytime it changes to htc sence mode. i want to keep GO Launcher mode. Please can anyone help me?

when you installed it you should have been given a dialog box to make GoLauncher your default launcher (as it is my default launcher). Perhaps you missed this?

I don't know how disable the sense ui default, because I only owned a sense phone for a month or two. You may try to look for the launcher in

Settings>Applications>All In the list see if you can something like launcher or sense launcher and select it. There will an option at the bottom of screen that says "launch by default" In the section select "clear defaults" then the next time you hit the home key it should offer you a list of apps. Select golauncher AFTER you've checked "use by default for this action"

You're set.

Welcome! :)

As Steven says, go into settings->applications->manage applications->all. I think the launcher will just be called "HTC Sense", but could be Sense, (or possibly Rosie, which is the actual name of the Sense launcher app).

Or you could try installing Home Switcher from the market and selecting "clear defaults" - this will take you to the management page for your current default launcher, where you can clear defaults as described above.

I also use Go Launcher and the only time the default option comes up is after I have installed the app, started it and then restarted the phone.

The "Set as default" option only comes available when there is no default set and more than 1 option that can carry out the action..

When you only have one launcher, Home brings up your launcher. There is no default set as there is no need to set a default on 1 launcher.

If you install another launcher, it will prompt to set as default as there are now 2 launchers and no default set. Once a default is set, it should remain default until the defaults are cleared on either launcher.

Press the home key so it can take you to the default screen.
Press on the menu key.
On the little pop up select settings
Once on the settings select applications --- manage applications .
Select all tabs
Then scroll down till you find Launcher App labeled as Sony Erricson Home .
Select this Launcher and scroll down
See where it says launch by default. If it is highlighted press on it, this is for the stock launcher is not the default. Tap Clear Defaults ...
Now press the home key, you should see the pop up asking you to pick your default launcher and now select Go Launcher ..

Voila :D

I have the Thunderbolt and since the 2.3.4 update, I have had the same problem. I have read several posts, but no real solution. The Homesmack didn't work. Really sounds like an HTC issue, but I am still trying to read more posts.

you are the man! thanx for the tip.

i have a better solution in case if you forget to chose default at time of installing. go to setting/applicatiom/manage application/go launcher/ and click on clear defaults tab. now open go launcher(or simply press home) this time it will ask to chose from 2 or more home app. now check default application....it worked on my galaxy fit.

Heres what worked for me.
Go to settings -> Manage apps and at the bottom of the screen default app settings
Choose launcher and check go launcher
A popup will come tap change and voila works like a charm
