defragger?

I was wondering if there is such a thing out there. Is it necessary? I just got a galaxy s2 updated to ics 4.0.3. im in love don't think I've ever had so much fun with a phone before. I know that defraggers can help 'puters run better is there a need for it with phones?

Nope, no need at all. To simplify, PC HDD defragmenters work on the principle of the reading head on the drive having to do a lot of moving back and forth when picking up the bits of a file - as the storage on your phone is flash memory with no moving parts, there's no benefit from the defrag process.

Further to this, defragmenting flash memory can actually be detrimental; the memory cells have a finite number of writes so any defragmentation shortens their expected lifespan.
