Root defunct

well... how are you attempting to mount system? you are aware you have to make an fstab and manually create a .rc file for the ramdisk or put the mount commands directly in an rc file right?

cm isnt very bright ya see, itll make the system but if you want it to mount you have to handle that part yourself if i remember correctly
 
Btw, foot of snow today :-/ unless YOU wanna pick me up and take me back and forth to my office, the video might have to wait. I can try and upload it from my throttled web, but it may get stopped if I get a call or something. Sorry :-(
 
you could manually edit the boot.img or try the stock boot.img. from what ive seen the stock one from the warp should be close enough to work, all the big issues ive seen in the past have been fixed with these phones
 
oh hey on a lighter cm note tho, i may have fixed a long standing issue with zte kernel code. msm_ion.h is nothing more than a glorified link to ion.h. the problem is it is an actual.h file which merely includes ion.h, this causes a loop which gcc quickly rectifies by telling you to go fudge yourself. i deleted the actual .h file, made it a symlink, and so far so good

init.goldfish.rc handles mounting, and its set to mount according to goldfish.fstab which i changed to be the mounts for our device
 
goldfish generally isnt executed. thats for the android emulator. hence the name goldfish likening the emulator to a goldfish bowl
 
wait a sec.....if the stock rom is as close to AOSP as possible, try flashing the OC kernel over AOSP 4.4.2 build, i think it may work actually
 
Its a little longer than I wanted it to be, but I try to be thorough at explaining things. Should I record a much simpler "Hi. This is what this is, this is how to do it, thank these guys. Bye" ? Its currently 18 mins long
 
My computer hates me. In the middle of recording it locked up. I reset it and its now demanding I restore from a system restore point. Guess what I dont have. It will not load into Windows. Fml. I hate this goddamn thing!
 
So I know I had restore points for a fact because it makes one when it updates. Upon booting my linux partition its unable to mount because its read only. I'm effed. Thats my business, 16+ hours of recorded footage, my phone/app backups, thousands of pictures and all of my software floating in corruption hell. I dont have a backup drive or the money for one either. Looks like youll have to go on without me til I can figure this out :-(
