Root Delete Nandroid Backup ?

Two part question:

1- Is it possible to delete old nandroid backups to create more space (memory) on my EVO?

2- where, using Astro or root explorer, can I find these nandroid backups to delete? (or can I just delete them from Recovery mod somehow?)

Yes, you definitely can delete old nandroid backups, assuming you know for a fact that you'll never want them back. You can, of course, copy them to your computer, first, just in case. If you're using Clockwork, you can use ROM manager to delete them. If you're using either Clockwork or RA, you can delete them from any file browser (Astro, Root Explorer, etc.). You'll find Clockwork backups in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup and you'll find RA backups in /sdcard/nandroid/(serialnumber)/. In either of those will be directories for each backup. Delete those whole directories (or copy them to your computer, first) to remove that whole nandroid backup. Be careful not to delete any others or the parent directory.

ok. Yeah, the first day I learned how to make a nandroid, I made 5 backups on one day. I was just trying to make sure I know how to make them by practicing. I dont need all 5 backups on my device, so I would like to stream line it and remove 4 of them. (since they are all identical anyway)..
and yes I will definitely copy them to my CPU before removing...just as a preventative measure.

thank you!

Personally I feel the wimax backup is the most important. All other nandroids are there just to save time, imo;) I feel it's best to always have the rom that you are on handy on your sd card. That way if something happens with the rom, just start over. I feel it's always better to start on a clean slate rather than nandroiding back to a rom from 3 weeks ago, but that's just me.

The only time a nandroid comes in handy is when I'm trying something new and I decide to nandroid restore back to the original rom.
