Root Deleted MikTweaks

Mikestony

~30% Carbon Black ±
Long story short, I inadvertently deleted MikTweaks. Now, in TB, I have 3 backups..Tried to restore the most recent backup, app only, (not app+data) and it hangs up trying to restore. I forced closed TB and tried to restore an older backup...no dice...I force closed TB. Went into recovery, (AmonRa), cleared cache/dalvik cache and tried it again...no soap. I even went so far as to go into the MikG 3.1 zip file to pull MikTweaks app and apply it. That did not work either. Is there anyway to get the MikTweaks app without going back to a previous nandroid I have?

Wipe cache and dalvik cache. Then flash the ROM you're running on top of itself. This will restore any stock apps from the rom that you deleted and that's all it will do. You might have to redo your settings but I'm not sure of that.

Thanks all you guys...I went back to a nandroid I made, and Mik tweaks appeared and all is well....:)
Just a last question tho, why couldn't TB restore the missing tweaks?
I had 3 backups of it...

My guess is that the tweaks app is pretty deeply integrated into the ROM, moreso than a typical app.

Just a guess though.....

That was my guess as well. There must be system elements ingrained in it. TB doesn't like to restore system stuff, or I should say roms don't like TB restoring system stuff. :)

You can't flash mik 3.1 on top of itself because it automatically wipes data. The 3.11 patch might work though if there was a revision to tweaks.

There is a tweaks update zip too, on the OP, but I don't know what version it is updating. I flashed it and seemed to have what I had before.

You are correct. You can, however, delete the portion of the updater script that does the wipe. I've done the same thing in order to prevent the ROM from rebooting after it is done installing.

Then you would be able to flash it on top of itself
