Root Deodex GB Problem

So this afternoon I reflashed Gingerbread using the 3 patch method from My Droid World, and everything went fine, followed all of the steps correctly. I was previously on the unrooted version that leaked first, went back to FroYo for a couple of weeks to see how things panned out, and just not got around to the new leak. Gingerbread worked fine, used it for about 30 min, then decided to deodex with the files from the same thread, used the one with CRT Off animation and 10% batt mod. When I rebooted i got constant force closes of Gmail, Google Voice, Google Talk, and the most constant of them all, voice commands and skype. They popped up so often I couldn't navigate to anything. finally sneaked enough clicks in to fix permissions through Rom Manager, nothing. So I factory reset through the stock recovery as that is all I could get too, and now I bootloop. Any ideas as to what went wrong? Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to be detailed in everything that happened.

Same problems on my wifes DX (installing deodex + batt + CRT). I finally resorted to SBF'ing back, redoing the 3-step GB update and stopping there without the deodex.

Ny wife is going to want themes soon though, so I have to figure out something. I tried deodexing her phone 4 times and had to SBF back every time. The last time I tried, I couldn't even get into stock recovery!!!

Any advice here would be awesome!

Thanks,
Kev

Several have reported problems with that file and others that deodex. I used the file from the following and had no problems. Just used the three files that P3Droid put out (without deodex) and then installed the deodex zip file over top that. No probs.

+10,000,000,000 (sorry EC).

Dead on with EVERYTHING alprazolam says here. Also, please be sure to thank these wonderful people. :)

Thanks guys, I did SBF back to FroYo and reinstalled GB without the deodex, worked great. I'll probably just wait for the ROMs to drop that deodex automatically now. Any way to get just the CRT animation then?

Yes, the zip file is floating around somewhere. You download and flash that. Let me see if I can hunt down that file...

Edit: Pulled link for now until it is confirmed for the latest leak.

Edit: Here you go http://db.tt/d2yMORg

I would suggest you don't use the old CRT zip file, you will be reverting your framework back to to the old 4.5.573 version.

If this is a link to a modded 4.5.588 framework, then never mind ;)

I made an assumption based on the thread title that I grabbed this from, but your post made me think to look at the actual file. The framework.res file is dated 3/29. That is iffy. Think I'll pull my suggested link till there is further confirmation.
