Help Desire Charger

I realise that I'm at risk of sounding pretty stupid but I received a new htc desire today (wooo!) and can't seem to work the charger...

I've got the actual plug that goes into the wall and I've got a black shiny blob that says AC adapter on it but I don't know how to fit them together. Can anyone help??

This sounds very like the one that ships with the Desire Z. You align the "AC adaptor" part vertically, insert it into the plug unit then turn 90-degrees clockwise (iirc) to lock. Mine is at work right now but from memory the logo will be on top when correctly connected.
