Desire HD from Orange

Out of interest, what's the ROM version? Someone on T-Mobile said they had no branding but their software version is 1.32.405.6-T-MOB
 
Mine arrived today, I love it so much already..Moving from the Hero every thing is soo much bigger

Received my orange DHD a couple of days ago:with no Orange logo or bloat..they must have listened to you guys.Mine arrived with a mini sim and adapter lucky for me I didnt notice the adapter so just used my old sim.Spoke to orange the next day about the new sim+adapter(Which I had found).He said..Noooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! do not use it !12000 HDs have been sent back with the adapter stuck inside and sim not working!!??Those Orange guys talk a lot o' shite.
Wont be bothering about poncy protective cases and screen protectors as I'm big on scratches and beer stains.Anyway phone is fantastic,I'm converted..not even thinking about sex..
 
Finally got my x2 D.HD direct from Orange Upgrade, via Retentions Dept. Totally happy, Fantastic handsets, Definately worth the wait.

Couple weeks ago, a nice girl told me they'd rcvd 2500 in stock and had 840 currently on Back Order so I asked to be added to that list.
Was on the Back Order list for about 10 days
I actually got fed up waiting and was about to go shopping at T-Mob thru e2save or CPW - did not fancy the 'redemption' nonsense but hey-ho!
Oddly enough, 1hr after requesting my PACs on Monday, I got my 'allocated stock' txts.
They arrived this Wednesday. Yee 'kin Haw!

600 mins (Dolphin 25/24m is std 300 - doubled for loyalty)
unlimited SMS
Internet/Email
International 50mins (bundle discontinued, but she dug from archive!)
 
Can't wait to get a hold of my new toy and play with it. Arranged my upgrade with Orange and looking forward to receiving text confirming they have HD in stock. Anyone got any inside info on when Orange will get their next shipment of stock?

I spoke to retentions last night, they've got a shipment in testing now, should be expecting the text within a week.
Managed to get mine for free on 18m, 200 mins, unlimited texts and 1.25gb data for
 
From what I have been told, Orange won't ever be modifying the software at all on the phone. And the main reason for the delays are due to complex components slowing down manufacturing, most notably the aluminum body.

I don't think Orange will ever stop putting their cr*p software on the phones, I don't see why they do it!

I received my DHD today on Orange from dialaphone, I presume the phone is unlocked as the last phone, Nokia N95 8GB was unlocked.

No Orange branding, just an Orange app on the Menu section, I presume that is because of the Orange sim.

I'm on a 24 month contract, Orange Dolphin

Has anyone got it setup?

Text 247 and got the link from Ornage via SMS. Went on Orangeworld with GPRS (free of charge), subscribe to push emails then it constantly says day after day to wait for the welcome message to setup the email accounts. Never actually got the text.

Well I've certainly learned something new, I've always assumed that the server knows what data is push email and what isn't. That would explain why the Orange rep said he's never seen anyone use as much data as me. I'll look into this and let you know what I find.

I was thinking about the same thing, because at the moment I am using the "Mail" Android appz that came with the DHD to check my Gmail that I have enabled IMAP to push any emails straight to the "Mail" client.

However everytime it did a poll to get the latest emails from Gmail server it has to conenct to GPRS. Then after a day or 2 I checked my 500Mb internet allowance (which is actually 483.333Mb according to Orange) I have used up some of my allowance.
 
I phoned Orange today for an update regarding stock. Person very helpful and said in stock (1,700 of them) and he noted that I had arranged my upgrade on 23/11. Said he would phone back, which he did. The order as before was processed and even managed to include 15 photo messages per month as part of the contract.

I asked him whether this would all have been processed today had I not called. He explained that once the text message is sent to everyone it's a matter of first come first served. That's the first time I called since my first contact last Tuesday so I was very lucky today. Will be delivered by courier tomorrow (weather permitting) and this has been reaffirmed by text.
 
This is my first post so be gentle.

I upgraded to desire HD at Carphone Warehouse and I'm loving it at the mo, but the upgrade hasnt gone through with orange yet, anyone got any idea how long this sort of thing could take? I got it on tuesday midday, it's now thursday night/ friday morning and theres no sign on the upgrade on my orange account. Any advice would be welcomed.

The reason i'm concerned is because I'm going to charged for any 3G usage until it goes through!

That's quite irritating (nothing against you personally) I've been waiting since the 22nd and stil haven't received a text. I phoned them this morning about your wait and they refused to comment. Why cant they be honest and say its not a list, but a raffle. I dont mind waiting, but refuse to be d**ked about.

your the same as me ive been waiting since 15 november ive been in contact every couple of days. i always get told the same thing " they have so many in testing and i should recieve a text the next few days. i phoned up yesterday and was promised i should get a text sometime today. ive got 3 accounts on my bill mine and my 2 kids phones i told them if i didnt hear from them ill be going to 02 and getting a iphone 4 and cancelling my 3 accounts with orange. hopefully that does the trick
 
It's a shame really, I've always had great service from Orange. But when having to deal with them over the phone, they are aweful. It seems as though they make up rules as they go along. I also have three numbers on my bill, one of them is my partners, she is 10 months into a 24 month iPhone contract yet they will let her have any other phone she wanted right now, for free. Yet when I wanted to upgrade a month early they wanted paying, a bit backward if you ask me. You shall have to let us know if they keep that promise of a text today.
 
My gf left Orange 18 months ago because when she took out their Home Broadband (of which the welcome letter confirmed) they also took over the phone line without her consent and refused to give back the money they'd taken for calls made over about a 7 month period...sneeky isn't the word
 
FINALLY!!!

Been trying to get hold of this phone for weeks and was put on the back order list on the 23rd. Like others, I was told i'd receive the magic text within a couple of days which never turned up. Would phone every couple of days and was told over and over that I would receive the text bla bla bla bla.

Phoned up yesterday and was told stock would be in that day and i'd get a text by the end of the day. Surprise surprise the text never arrived. Called in the evening and was told, quite rudely, that I would only get a text when there was stock in. Going round in circles?!

Called again today and a very helpful bloke actually decided to check if there was any stock and....there is! He told me I just happened to call at the right time. Phone arrives on Monday. I recommend people keep calling and pushing it. There was stock at around midday so should still be a couple left!
