Desire HD from Orange

to all you guys still waiting for an upgrade and wanting a desire hd as bad as i did (and dont mind paying a bit extra over 18 months)
call orange sales (they keep phone for new customers) and add a new phone to your account.
then call cancellations and cancel your current contract. you can still keep your old number on payg
i got the dhd for free over 18 months 900 mins, unlimited text emails and landline calls, 750mb data.

Still no text just phoned them and they said that they are still working through backorders>do you ever get the feeling you are being strung along
 
Orange just phoned me and asked if I would mind answer some questions regarding their customer service. Of course not I replied after explaining all that had gone on waitng 2 weeks for a phone that still is no closer in coming to me. I was told that a manager would phone back in 2 hours. I will not hold my breath.
 
ok so after Orange sending me the wrong phone last week. The Desite instead of the Desire HD...doh! I had to post it back to them (as they couldnt collect doh! no.2:) I sent the wrong phone special delivery, they just confirmed receipt of phone and the HD will be with me tomorrow... holding breath.

For my trouble and inconvenience theey are paying for the postage I had to pay to send the wrong phone back on Friday and I also get 1 months free line rental as an apology... so bad but easy mistake originally made by Orange when they sennt a Desire instead of Desire HD, but to be fair they have offered me a great deal and a form of compensation. So credit to Orange for service in the end.... still holding breath til romorrow mind...
 
i spoke to a lady last week about my upgrade to a D HD She promiced to call me once thet came into stock so i could upgrade . I didnt expect a call but i got one today and i take delivery of my new phone tomorrow. Just goes to show it totaly depends on who you speak to .
 
Phone has arrived according to my missus! Looking forward to getting home from work What's all this about a text and waiting list? I never got a text from anyone and never had to give a code when I ordered... maybe they put the order through because I told him my order on the website failed the previous day?
 
I've been having a good think over the Desire HD for the last few days and think the Orange contract deals at dialafone (uk) are currently the most tempting around
 
Well iv had mine over a week or so now and I still cant access any of the orange world services on Panther.. Orange Maps says I don't have an applicable handset and other apps like a free months subscription to Sky Sports/News and 2 free games just come back with "Not available on your handset"

Also, Orange world services only work when im on Mobile internet, if I try accessing them through a wifi connection it comes back with "this services is unavailable at the moment, please try later" / "your device is unrecognised"..
 
unbranded as far as i can see, non of that orange bezel stuff, no orange apps, just the usual amazon mp3 thing and bits and bobs

question for you guys:

have you just used your old sim card? or do you need to upgrade/activate your new sim card?

edit: I would love to write more but at work, and we have a ton of emergency changes coming through (the ITIL IT peeps will appreciate)... will write mor eon it tonight (or on the train as i test this baby out)
 
Really is a bit misleading what some people say about the orange/T-Mobile merger.

At the moment, as a T-Mobile customer you can roam onto orange's 2g network only.

A picture of it posing next to its granddad... first impressions are that I prefer the contrast and vibrant colours on the Hero, but size matters..



I'm waiting for the Desire to charge before I give it a proper run out!

hey all! ok so ...USB debugging instantly on! lol

so yes the phone! well certainly 1 piece of sexy hardware, immediately put on on a protective film and had a quick play with the new toy :)

so as before i cant see any orange branding anywhere which is a relief. everything flies at the moment which is awesome - but im having issues logging into my gmail account via the htc mail app, gmail app works fine and so does downloading the paid apps...

the battery panel...well initially it was bulging out but you have to re-align it carefully and clip in, its ok now.

bottom panel seems well....a lil not snug? kinda expected it to fit like the back cover on my Hero but there seems to be like a .25mm gap (big enough to see the metal underneath...)

camera is a major improvement over the hero - phew

and...ooo battery dead lol well thats it so far! will update further tonight :D
 
I have waited for an e-mail from orange since October the 1st. Never got one. I kept checking the internet for stock. I found some on there on saturday.
Rang them and it is being delivered tomorrow.
