Desire HD from Orange

2500??? Ai-yai-yaaaiiiiiiiiiii! whoopieeee! seems i must have missed the last batch too if i havent recieved a chuffign txt yet lol

but cheers for the update dude, hopefully we'll get our soon indeed! whooopieeee!!! but lets await and see shall we? if any of you guys and gals recieve a txt, dump a msg on here! :D
 
Do they really do testing? They said that to me when the Nov 3 batch came in and I got the phone the next day (Nov 4th) so didn't look like they tested it.

Sorry, not taking you for an idiot, but companies like mobiles.co.uk (contract resellers) do not typically open up and test shipments of phones. Only the networks regularly do that and they normally only do that with initial batches.

I also think it's reasonable to assume if the likes of Clove, Expansys, Handtech, CPW and P4U are not getting their promised deliveries from HTC then mobiles.co.uk (I know they're CPW affiliated btw) won't be either.

It seems that the consistent story is that HTC have promised stock deliveries every Tuesday for the rest of the month commencing again on the 16th. If next week's delivery shows up then I think it will be a sign that the problems may start to ease. If that delivery doesn't show up then I think it will be indicative of longer delays to come.

Be that as it may, I emailed them yesterday, asking why I didn't get any more info about their stock (after my phone call in the morning), mentioning my concern that other places had their deliveries cancelled, etc, and got this reply this morning:

Hi Mr [...],

I can confirm that despite the evident stock issues elsewhere, we did have a delivery of Desire HD's yesterday so if your order hasn't already been despatched it should be very shortly.

I also got this email:

This email is to notify you that order xxxxxxx has been sent to our warehouse to be despatched. Delivery will take place the next working day unless this email is timed after 5pm, in which case it will be collected tomorrow for delivery the following working day.

So I'm quite happy to say that I'll have my Desire HD by this time tomorrow. Seems like mobiles.co.uk was the right choice. :)

Their website also shows that it's currently in stock (for anyone interested), whereas yesterday it was not.

I have been on the phone to orange every day for the last 7 days


I missed out on the 800 dhd's they had this morning too. but apparently they have over 2000 people on the back order list.

no one gave me a straight answer as to when they will have more. one of the girls even said "dont hold your breath with how the phone situation is at the moment" how rude.

the spoke to new connections. turns out they had 55 in stock for new customers. (they should be looking after their existing customers 1st)

my contact ends on the 13th of nov 2010 so called cancellations and cancelled my current contract.

then called sales and added a new phone to my account.
desire hd will be with me on friday.

it is getting a bit ridiculous really, they should be able to tell when they will be releasing, ive been out of contract for a few months now, specificaly waiting for this handset.

i think im going to get the time iv been out of contract off the length of my next contract ;)

will ring them later and ask the question again, otherwise i might just let go of they loyalty iv shown them and go elsewhere
 
just logged onto my online account and the DHD is showing on there but as out of stock, so we are having some developments :eek:
 
Got the call from Orange today with HTC Desire HD on backorder. 2500 units in yesterday and now released. Mine arrives tomorrow :)

1000mins, 550 txts, 500mb internet
 
just spoken to orange, they say now it is out of stock after saying 2 days ago 2500 units were in testing, i`ve had my name on the text list for weeks, seems to be a different answer to availability everytime i phone (mostly daily)..

can certainly confirm that note, gave orange another call, guy looked it up and yeah backorder shuold be cleared soon, he said he'll txt when its CONFIRMED.

So here's in hoping for tomorrow cos im still drolling over my mates DZ! booo...lol
 
the message iv just got is EXPECTING 2500 delivery today, so they cant even commit to when have or if they have recieved a shipment. they also cant confirm how far down the back order list i am or if they 2500 shipment will cover me

i did however manage to blag a replacement for my bold 9000 out of them for free :D

unfortunatly not, basically as ive said elsewhere on the thread, im out of contract and have been waiting on the DHD as a replacement. my Blackberry is starting to fall apart so i told thm i want the new phone as i dont want to claim through my orange care, so she made the claim for me compimentary :D

just got a text form orange saying that phone has been despatched and will be with me tomorrow! great stuff!

upgrading form a hero....so hoping to see a bit of a difference!

oh no thats so unfair! lol i still havent got my txt yet...huffle puff! u lucky git! :P so looks like i need to wait for a txt 1st then it'llarrive the day after eh? darn!

p.s. some of u lot may get a call from orange about Orange Care...thought it was about my phone! lol

i hope not! (no offence) lol its only cos its being delivered to work and the reception team isnt there on a weekend!!!!...gosh....next week it is then.... huff! lol
 
yeah seems a little unfair and i have obviously beena little lucky.

first time i phoned orange today, didnt expect there to be stock from what i had read on here.

but they orange guy went off the phone for a few minutes to ask another department about stock and then came back on the line and said 'stocks not a problem!" like i say, i must be lucky or something.

dont confuse this with a text from ornage to say the phone is in stock....its actually a despatched text.

if i was you i would ring them each day and ask if the phones in stock....seems like they have some set aside for people who ring up, rather than allocating them all to people who have reserved one. guess they may have a principal that those on the reserved list are already contracts / deals in the bag....i may be wrong though
