Desire HD laggy

Hey so i just got my Desire HD... i've noticed that whilst scrolling through the apps screen it lags up (near the bottom). I've also noticed that psx4droid is laggy, it used to run better on my standard Desire... Any suggestions? Quite PO'd... Dunno if there's a OS update coming out, but my old desire was smoother :S (only sold it cos of the screen limitations, was a good phone)

also i've heard just having angry birds installed can cause lag throughout the OS, load of crap?

AHhi i remember reading that ages ago, the USB debugging thing... been a 2 wait month for the phone and forgot everything i had read, cheers bro

I've noticed that most of the lag (which is very rare) is result of too many ads in games and apps. If you restart level in Angry birds very often, it will start to lag cos it loads shitload of ads.

I think you 've got to treat the DHD as a laptop.
Imagine if you did not restart your laptop for say a week or so...
It would certainly get very laggy.
This is why I restart my DHD (full restart and not fast-boot as I have disabled the fast-boot feature) every 1-2 days.
This keeps it lag-free for me.
Hope this helps.

As HTCWozz mentions I would start with turning on USB debugging as you might be having the /init process issue where it runs out of control consuming all your spare CPU cycles...

Maybe install something like watchtower (on the market) first and see what processes are using what?

A guy I work with who has a Desire HD as well was having his init process go a bit crazy and after I pointed him to turning on USB debugging (as this is supposed to fix it somehow) he said that not only was his battery life almost double, but he said that everything "seemed smoother"

Good luck!

Yeh, as ridiculous as it sounds it just needed a restart, the USB debugging didn't seem to make any diff.. Not used to resetting phones so didn't occur to me hehe... Still lags up in the app screen near the bottom, not sure why, meh

Hey, i got my DHD couple a days ago and became a bit laggy, it`s weird that was a bit more laggier on a custom rom than stock.

@big_mike, what do you mean when you say full restart ?

Actually i wanted to ask how can i turn off fast boot ? i mean to fully turn of my phone, just unchecking fast boot from settings > app ?

Yes. Just turn off fast boot from settings, then restart your phone or turn it off and on again and it should be fine. Also, don't forget to turn on USB debugging.
These two keep the DHD lag-free for me.
