Help desire keeps answering in loud speaker why?

whenever i get an incoming call it keeps automatically anwering in loud speaker its only just started doin this, can anyone tell me why, also recently ive been gettin a car symbol keep popping up. as far as i no ive not changed anythin in the settings. any ideas please.....

So its in car mode which defaults to loud speaker.

If a battery pull has not cleared this, check the USB socket, make sure there is no dirt, grit or fluff in there causing this.

I had the same issue.

Power Off / Power On sorted it.

ive give it a good clean in the charge socket, still got the same problem, even when the car symbol isnt there its still answerin in loud speaker

If you have removed the battery then, only can think of factory reset.

I had this myself, but battery pull resolved.

how much will i loose doin a factory reset.

everything other than the contents on the sdcard
contacts shouls sync back from google if you have google sync enabled on your device account

Mine had this and it spent nearly 6 months away at HTC (came back a couple of times for about 5 mins, which is as long as it took me to show the people in the shop that it had not been repaired!)

Eventually HTC conceded defeat and replaced it with another one.

Am I best gettin in touch with O2 and seeing what they can do, the phone isn't insured but is only 7 months old. cheers

Have you tried just power cycling it (power off, leave 30 seconds then power on again) ? If so, try taking the battery out, leaving it for 30 seconds and then replacing. Only if neither of those work is it worth worrying about.

Done all the above now still no joy, tryin to avoid factory reset or sending off for repair. Anymore ideas people

right ive read the fourm link above and it seems to be quite a common problem, it seems to be a hardware fault, ive now emailed htc lets see what they have to say, thanks for the replys

i had this problem and best buy replaced it for me. I did a power cycle and it did not work, some people say the software just corrupted for my phone

Have you tried tuning off Car Mode as it says in that thread I linked to? worked for me

yep done that the car has stopped showin in the top corner now, but still answerin in loud speaker.
