Desire - Old v New...

Ok, the Desire's like a middle aged phone now with an S2 around & a Sensation etc...but when it comes down to it:

Does everything an S2 or even what a quad-core does - loadsa apps...

Pretty quick...

If ya rooted you can have a 'new phone' in an hour...

So, unless my Desire keels over (pray)...then I dont feel any need to get another android...

(If i did i'd prob. get a Sam. W)

Anyone else care to comment ?

you do get bored after 2 years of trying every available rom possible
its a bit scary when you find the rom you settle on and have nothing left considering the amount out there.
im ready for a new phone now

Wow. Impressive.

I've tried a grand total of 5 roms. I am itching to try more (such as MildWild, even perhaps an ICS one) but I do like dGB and I have it set up just how I like.

Oh yeah, and I'm lazy and unadventurous :D

I've never tried any ROM other than oxygen...as i really dont feel they could offer me what i ain't already got.

A Sam. W is said to have an OK battery life not sure on the memory situ tho....

Yep but they haven't made that phone yet. Its unfortunate because the desire can barely handle what I want to do with it to the point I've given up doing what I want with it. I've loved the desire but the specs are too low for me now.

I got the same sentiments as you with regards the spec being too low for what i want, still undecided on the one x as its not quite the specs i want but very close though

Specs OK for my usage (I've not played with Ubuntu on it yet though, nor ICS, so doubtless that will change at some point).

But as has been discussed elsewhere, the "right" phone doesn't seem to have been announced yet...

I have gone the other way. I love my little phone (Desire S), but I can count the stuff I do on it in one thread; Calls, Text, GPS Sports Tracker, Time, Alarm, Calculator. That's pretty much it.

All that costs me a

I've been itching for a new phone for a while now.

Trouble is once I've decided I want a new phone I start to go off the one I'm using.
The fact that I bought World of Goo and don't have room to install it and my phone no longer stays paired to my in car bluetooth was the final straw.

Hoping to get a replacement within the next week.
For me rooting and Rom'ing was done out of necessity not because I wanted too and flashing a new ROM became a crutch for wanting a new phone.
Eventually the fact that the phone specs are too low compared to the new Smartphones came back to bite me no matter what ROM I use.

Maybe I'm just hard to please...

It's been a good phone but I don't see me missing it tbh.
