Root DeskClock.apk (Android Clock) is GONE!

My clock is gone! Here are the steps I did:

1. I didn't like the clock font, because it's incredibly ugly.
2. I copied DeskClock.apk from my System/apps
3. I opened it with WinRAR and replaced the font in assets to a honeycomb font.
3a. I didn't extract the apk , just replaced the font
4. I copied it back to my SD card
5. I replaced the deskclock.apk in system/apps with the new one using root explorer
6. My clock disappeared
7. I rebooted
8. Tried a push with adb and rebooted
9. Still nothing.

Any suggestions? I really need my clock back.

the fonts are in /system/fonts

and your mistake was using winrar

7zip works best for that kind of thing

couldn't you just download a new clock from the market? I imagine there are plenty to download. You might even want a widget. I use a weather/clock widget. Looks great.

Well, i wish i could, but i need a way to change what happens when i use my dock. Is there anyway to make the LG Ally dock open up a 3rd party app when attached. Also would someone mind posting the deskclock.apk (on Froyo - Velocity 1.0)?

aannnddd...now i feel dumb.

Simple fix:

Download a different alarm clock, rename to Deskclock, replace in system, reboot, load in dock and it loads your app.
