Well, this is the forum for the HTC DESIRE not the HTC DESIRE HD.
I'll move to to the correct forum for you.

Hello and welcome to the forums - thanks for joining!

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your phone... we will try and get you up and running again!

Firstly, have you tired removing the battery for a couple of mins, reinserting it and turning back on?

yes and i have tried following things as well.
cache wipe.
restoring my phone
formatting
dowloaded a ROM from the internet cm 7.20 ( it doesnot install it bad file or something like that)
original rom was i guess from its carrier OLLEH.
it was running 2.3.3 previoulsy.
Thank you.
Please help

I will try and help, but am currently in work... I will be able to respond more when I get home.

When you rooted, did you use a Windows computer or Linux?

Windows 7 64 bit. had antivirus and everything disabled. the cmd showed process completed. but the phone started restarting over and over. i think the ROM got corrupted. and i can't check if the device is actually rooted or not as it is not booting

i am just thinkig if indeed it didnot root properly and the ROM has got corrupted i will be needing a version of the original ROM supplied by that carrier. if you consider this as a fair probabliity can u help me find the custom rom. carrier was OLLEH. and i purchased this phone in a different country

I will have to try and help you a little later on - bear with me... should be back home from work in about 5-6 hrs (unless someone else is free and can help) :)

one more thing i would like to add. i just downloaded a fresh ROM. it installed perfectly and when i clicked on the option of reboot it restarts and stays stuck there on the htc screen. can that be a corrupted rom or something else ? what do you suggest i do ?

i may not have been able to explain properly.
Previously and still now i can access the Recovery mode (powering on and volume down button)
i downloaded the ROM on my system transferred it to the SD card. and used the recovery mode to go to the Clockwork mod recovery v 5.0.2.7 to install the Rom. before installing therom i wiped clean the cache and did a factory reset. then installed the rom via install from zip card. it showed installation successful. in the end when i selected reboot now. it restarted and then stays stuck on the start boot screen. gave it 15 min before removing the battery.

the name of the ROM was supreme desire. can it b because gold card or any other file that was supposed to be present is not there on the sd card as it tried formatting it. or not having rooted properly or lastly another corrupted ROM ?

Please post a link for where you got the ROM... the name seems like it would suggest a Desire ROM, not a Desire HD ROM... which would explain why it was not working :)

EDIT: ninjad by stevercs :)

i dont think i have the link now. doing hell lot of browsing and don remember the pages even. can email u the zip file if you want. can u suggest a link from where i shoul download and install a compatible ROM. Desire HD. android 2.3.3

Do you not want to try the IceColdSandwich ROM that is linked in the post above mine? It is Android 4.0.3 (it is the most up to date version of the custom ROM I have on my phone at the moment) :)

i thought that rom are available according to the software version. i mean if it all goes well. this one should install ?

I have not stated any ROM

The ROM that stevevercs has linked is not an Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) ROM, but an Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) ROM, which IS for the Desire HD :)

Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest version of Android... I have this ROM on my phone :)

It sounds like you are rooted, as you can get in to ClockWorkMod... I went from Android 2.1 to Android 4.0, so you shouldn't have any problems :)
