Root [DEV] Continuing Triumph ICS Development

Good find Ziggy, hopefully we can make good use of it. Did you get your homework done before you started searching around?

hey! finally something i found pays off lol :D whyzor thanked my post *mumbles: my purpose in life is complete...*

and sharpe, lol im good at multitasking (still got some left to do tonight too) :p

Gingerbread for the triumph would be great - would make fixing the camera much easier. Probably would just work with the HAL that mantera already committed.

Another note, testing an additional fix for 3g getting hosed after a time. If it seems to be working after tomorrow I'll push it. It's an easy one from TG that I somehow missed before.

Actually looking at those two links - I don't think they're preparing for a gingerbread release - they're saying they have a workaround since Triumph *runs an earlier version of Android* ... i.e. don't expect to ever get Gingerbread from us.

That's what I thought too...I thought I just missed something xD

I'm trying out tg's fix for the 3g data drop from cm7. Building now. We'll see if that has any effect... If it doesn't have any adverse effects, I'll add it to 0.6.4 so we can get a wider base of testing.

Edit: I think I see a possible cause with some of our audio problems also. I'm trying a fix now.

hey guys my buddy with an atrix 4g said they just got his camera solved. can that help us?

edit: only reason i say is that its a moto product.

Not sure if anyone posted this yet. I Was reading about the camera and heard that we are missing the HAL module. Maybe this will help. Im not sure if it is compatible with our triumph, but im sure it wouldn't hurt to look.

EDIT: i should have read the last page of the thread seeings how there were many post about the camera. oh well.... there might be some helpful info on the thread i posted still. Oh and dont forget that whoever fixes camera first gets a $25.00 donation from me. Stay tuned. more bribes to come. lol

Edit: i didnt read the thread right i think its only for GB

I don't think it's a go - my phone's stuck in Roaming mode this morning. Looks like ICS may need a different fix.

Can someone tell me where in the repo the hardware acceleration files are located? I would like to take a look and see if there is anything I can fix.

I use the x86_64 version of arch and it's working fine. Setup was a little bit of a pain, but I that's because you need multilib, etc. Installing on the 32 bit version should be pretty painless. There's an arch wiki page on how to install the Android sdk. Just be sure to use the Sun jdk/jre and not openjdk.

EDIT: posted from my phone and the quote got eaten. I'll add it when i get home

So I've been playing with trying to fix the audio. We were missing all of the msm-7x30 files that we needed for our audio and mic to work properly. But I was running into errors, etc. However, I just looked at edowar's repo and he apparently saw the same thing earlier today as well and pulled his files from LorDClockaN who apparently already fixed it a few weeks ago... Seems like it'll be much easier to just pull his stuff instead of wasting more time playing. lol. will have to do that after my build is complete.

Edit: CM9 really has pretty much nothing in place for us msm-7x30 board phones. Sheesh!

did the logcat I made give you any help in the camera department?

Thanks for that. However, that was pretty much the same as what I've been seeing all along. It sucks. It'll take a lot more time and effort for our phone I think to get the camera going than just the simple wrapper that seems to be working for other phones unfortunately.

Heck Yeah! Got wifi hotspot tethering working. Also the data connection fix doesn't put me in roaming... Needs more testing though.

Edit: On a separate note, for anyone else thinking of doing this... If you try to replace the media_profiles.xml file with the CM7 one that we had, you'll bootloop. Spent half the afternoon trying to figure out what was causing my bootloops until I realized I had made that change yesterday. Sheesh@!

Edit 2: I bet I had the audio fixed this afternoon too but I was bootlooping so I thought some of my audio changes had caused the issue... Stupid media_profiles.xml file! Going back to it to rebuild and see.

Crap... figured it may give some insight into what was going on. If you need logs of anything spacific, PM me and I'll get them asap. Thanks mantera.

Mantera you are the MAN of the Hour! I can't wait until we get the mic and wifi hotspot working. When I heard about the camera is almost cried
