Root [DEV] Continuing Triumph ICS Development

Ok, so I figured out why the wifi tethering wasn't working right before.

I had forgotten to enable the mss clamping in the kernel. Just compiled a new kernel and it seems to be working now in my testing. I've tried espn, msn, cnn, abc, slashdot.org, etc and they all now load up on my wife's phone (running cm7) tethered to my wifi hotspot on my phone.

sweet! tethering isn't a huge thing for me since I don't use it that much (but it is nice to have when needed) btw, have you been able to reproduce and include the audio input fix?

Yeah, that's fixed. It'll be in v0.6.5.
I had seen before that Wsimon had been able to port over Edowar's fix but then the discussion kinda died and went on to git hub problems and stuff LOL. Excellent news will be looking forward to v0.6.5

Would it be possible for somebody to maintain flashable zips of this rom? Ubuntu works very poorly on my laptop, and I am therefore unable to build this myself. I would really like to try it out though if somebody could provide me with a built version of it.

I think I may have figured out the camera problems. The first problem I noticed was that the HAL module wasn't being loaded due to an incorrect parameter passed to the load function in hardware/libhardware/hardware.c . The second problem I found was that frameworks/base/include/camera/ was missing MT changes as well as frameworks/base/libs/camera/ .

Oh really? cool :D did you get to try it yet?

That would be awesome! And all these fixes seem similar. So maybe it will be easier to fix the rest

I think we may be able to call beta after cameras are fixed (thanks progmanos). That would be a large jump in the right direction. Mantera would have to call it for sure though.

I think when we figure out how to get the 3G to stop dropping after a couple hours then it will be a beta.

I have been using this rom as a daily for a week or so and the 3G thing and the touch screen getting stuck on an input are whats bothering me most.

I dont use the camera as often so it isnt as noticeable.

the last few fixes though have made it last alot longer though.

It seems to me that ICS likes to eithier be really smooth or really laggy. You can deff tell the GUI is alot smoother in ICS compared to Gingerbread.

Also has anybody noticed the signal level is considerably lower than say TG reloaded?
I had at-least One or Two more towers with Gingerbread than ICS.

I notice the phone is a bit sluggish compared to the first time I flashed it (or maybe it's my imagination) is it a alpha thing or am I doing something wrong?

im getting faster data speeds with ICS. 0.6.4

no data drops in my personal testing. touch screen works awesome for me as well. a tad bit sensitive, registers SOME taps as swipes (rare) but nothing else.

I believe once they get the camera and HDMI working they'll start working in making the r smoother and maybe even porting the 3.0 kernel
