Root Dev Needed... 2.1 Running on the Behold 2

@equinox if you're talking about the file I think you're talking about, I believe bh_man has stated a few times that it is missing the essential drivers that are needed to build the 2.x rom, but if you want, you can upload it and send it to me and I'll check it with the files I have on my linux to see if anything different stands out.. I just hope it's what we need...

Its not a file its all the original source code they used to build the original 1.5 image, when i get home ill upload the archive and you guys can have at it, maybe it'll help who knows.

Ok so I have uploaded the original source for the SGH-T939 to my old website since it's better than using them stupid free services. I'll keep it there for a few weeks so you guys can download it. I guess what your looking for is in the kernel source folder under sound (maybe). To give you an idea of what is included here is some ls snapshots.

In ./kernel/sound

Code:
ac97_bus.c

last.c
Makefile
mips

parisc
pci
pcmcia
ppc
sh
soc
sound_core.c
sound_firmware.c

In ./kernel/drivers is this

Code:

That is among a ton of other things included in the package (has the original cupcake build scripts as well).

Hopefully this helps, if I have more time I'll see what else I can do to help. For now, good luck!

I have a group of people that are wanting to make the behold 2 the way it always should have been. We however need the phone in order to accomplish this.

How can we trust you?

and who do you work for?

lol i sound like an interrogator...
I do not know what to tell you except you have no way of knowing. We are not wanting anything except the oppurtunity to prove a point. If getting someone's extra phone would allow us to set up the drivers to make it work then there you go. I have no idea why it was dropped, why someone sent me an e-mail in Korean( I think it was Korean) shortly after posting my original. The thing is why does Samsung not want to release the drivers for this phone? HTC releases their's. If they would allow those of us willing to make it happen for atleast Android 2.2... We are also talking about running 2.2 without rooting the phone. I implore anybody to think for a minute and ask yourself if you can run multiple OS's on your pc what makes anyone think that running a second OS on a phone is unobtainable. Heck the behold 2 is better and faster than any Windows 98 computers. They can run any OS on those computers. My last point to anyone that reads this is... I thought that this was suppose to be OSS? That means share your stuff to allow others to help make it better.

Sorry I forgot to put this in the last post... If we make this happen then it starts a trust level between us and consumers. With that taking place then we can help in multiple areas for future projects. :D:D

Wow if you could pull that off you would be my hero :p

I guess will just have to find out.......

any one willing to donate there phone to the better cause of getting more out of a phone that was promised 2.0?

Contact BH_MAN (Eugene) and see if he'll send you the one he's been working on. *shrug* Sorry, but unless you're a trusted member of the forums I'm not sending mine.

Who is we? Are you a company? Please provide details.

How about using a desktop sharing app like Teamviewer?

There may be people who don't want to send in their phones but would be happy to setup a session where you get full desktop access to a computer with the Behold2 plugged in.

It would also be quicker and give you multiple phones to work with.

Or another option...

Can you or BHman post some detailed howtos on what to do to find the driver information you need? Some of us I'm sure are technically proficient enough to follow directions carefully and accurately post the results,

@kuampy

Posting directions would be pointless because they could do them them self as for a remote thing they would then have access to all of your files and your computer not just the bh2

I don't have a twitter account, can somebody else ask? Or is it a need for a ton of people to request? Because if that's the case I will make a twitter account.

Make one,i dint know sht about twitter till I found out that devs released beta test roms on there,so I made an account just for that purpose,Cyanogen and Bhman/Eugene373 be on there few times a day talkin bout new roms.

But yeah,if few people followed cyanogen(he gets points and prizes I think for followers) and made requests on twitter then he would probably do it or even make cyanogen rom for bh2!Ya just keep buggin him till he does, lol.
