Root Development progress on Cyanogenmod7/9/10 Updated: 5/10

Not to spam up this thread or anything, but how is progress going? I haven't heard from any of the cm developers on anything recently.

I'm sure they are hard at work I can't wait to see things rolling like this for our Elite.Just wish I could help out just dying to get a hold of it :-)

Sorry to be a bother, but could somebody please PM me a link to the CM 10.1 source? I'm building Ubuntu Touch, and it's getting pretty far along but it'd save a lot of time to build with a 10.1 base like it's supposed to be built with. Right now I'm having to modify CM 7 source, and it's getting pretty choppy. Thanks!

Sent you the only link I found, I just wanna help

I remember seeing a while back that some devs said porting CM 9 is a waste. On my tablet there are GB, ICS, and JB ROMS, and I like the variety of choices that the three platforms offer. I was looking into compiling an ICS from source for our phone, but I wanted some opinions from people if they would download it or not, even if we had CM 10(.1) by the time I actually get it working.

I tried that awhile ago with no success on getting the phone to boot but I tried to build cm9 again today and I got far enough to get a logcat. The phone tries to boot but I think this error is preventing the phone from booting.

genlock_create_lock: open genlock device failed (err=Permission denied)

Getting a logcat is pretty good! Now, I'm not too sure what that error means, but once I get a bit more time I'm going to study up on my coding and hopefully find a solution to that error.

Yeah I would def try it out!

Well considering a driver is needed for hardware to function, and a kernel is required for the phone to not only boot but it's what communicates between hardware and software I believe. So to me that sounds like that's the 100% reason why it didn't boot lol.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Downthemachine and the Osiris team have to build a kernel specifically for this phone in order for the boot.img to work properly for CM builds

Got past the genlock error but still got a black screen and getting a lot of errors. I’m going to start on fixing them in a minute.
